Well done Nobby looking great as for the slight mishap, save your fine cast iron filings what you've machined off, pop some fast setting super glue on the area and sprinkle the cast iron on and keep building it up till filled, worth a try, i save all my fine materials filings in seperate jars for filling. see you next time atb Kev

That’s a very useful tip Kev. Thanks for that. Unfortunately I have already vacuumed up all the cast iron off the mill. But I will remember this for the future. I was thinking of using some JBWeld as a filler, which I believe has metal in it? The base will be painted later, which I hope will cover up my mistake. Thanks for looking Kev. Cheers Nobby

Good job Nobby! Biggest part of model engine building is problem solving. What needs to be done is often clear, but how to do it is the challenge, and there are often many different ways. I’m really enjoying this build. Well done.

Hi Nobby, does the cylinder bolt directly onto the face you have machined with a gasket or does it have cylinder ends. If direct then you will have to thread your baseplate surface to take a packing gland. Getting there slowly, at least we never got to hear you F'ing and Blinding to disturb our peace and delicate ears..😀 Best Wishes from Australia.

Hello David. There’s a cylinder cap that goes between the cylinder and the face I machined on the base casting. The cap has a spigot that goes through a hole in the casting. The spigot is drilled and threaded to take the packing gland. Part 3 will show a bit more detail on this. Thanks for looking David, it’s much appreciated. Cheers Nobby
