I learned about this idea while listening to a Freedom Convoy press conference. One of the Veterans brought it up and shared it with the group as potentially a reason for this whole mess (govt mandates). I just can't believe how things have been going since you recorded this interview. How much worse are things going to get? I'm praying for peace and protection over the freedom fighters. I pray for freedom for all.

Yes but COVID-19 brought to light out racial injustices in George Floyd and governments role in daily lives. Imagine economic collapse occurring in an unprecedented heat wave with ensuing power outages and riots. In that I predict a climate catastrophe punctuated by a civil emergency or perhaps a global conflict. Israel is already striking Arab targets as I write this. It could force USA to act decidedly against Iran at some point.

The four generational categories are childhood, young adulthood, mid life and elderhood. They each span approximately 20 years. So millennials are now in their young adulthood span.

They are considered young adult. For his theory, the next step is mid life and millennials goes up to 2004 not 1996. Gen X are in their mid life now. Gen x are supposed to be in power now and change the world, while most millennials are in their 30s and 20s.

I think men need to find a masculinity that isn’t at the expense of women, their fellow human beings, and other creatures on this great earth. Excellent interview - love Neil’s work. Curious to see what the new book says at the end of this year. Makes sense now why I identify so much with the forties and thirties as an (elder) millennial, and why I felt a war was imminent. It just shows in the patterns of history over and over again. Thanks for this 👏👏👍👍

I call it the Nomadic Hero. I feel that as well. I think it has something to do with being the youngest in the family and being influenced by Gen X sibling and cousins. It’s a bit of a hybrid on the cusp, depending on your influences. Not an exact science, of course ☺️

Howe's perception that young men follow what young women want is largely a matter of style rather than substance. As a boomer woman I knew a lot of "new age sensitive guys" where it was only skin deep. The way their mothers raised them has a far more profound effect on the way they perceive and interact with women. Most boomer men were raised to feel they were the center of the universe. Their mothers cooked their favorite treats, did their laundry, waited on and picked up after them. We, their sisters, often had to make do with the crumbs of our mothers' attention and affection. At least my mom did not train me to wait on my brothers as my aunts had been trained to wait on my uncles. I think the young men of the millennial generations have been raised by much more egalitarian mothers. Most of their moms worked and expected them to pitch in to the running of the household. They learned to listen to and respect their mothers and women in general. Most Boomer mothers insisted on help and assistance from their husbands in household chores and child-rearing (however reluctant or minimal), so their sons had the advantage and example of more involved fathers. Young millennial women have a lot to thank their mothers for.

Now, in 2022, we can understand perfectly how the nation could intern the Japanese Americans. Just think about the group that you see as the greatest danger to American democracy. You will feel the temptation. We have to fight that temptation.

Both sides. Far right can be bigoted and discriminate against minorities. Looking at previous anti Islamic and anti immigration sentiments, anti black violence. Far left can likewise have reverse racism. Looking at anti white, anti male, anti Christian sentiments and anti Asian violence. Both extremes are a danger to American democracy. Far right storming the capitol and targeting lawmakers, far left calling for disbanding of Supreme Court and targeting of justices. Unfortunately the fourth turning is when moderation goes out the window. It’s now unpopular to be a moderate.
