one of my favorite bands from chicago, glad they are coming here in phoenix this year.

They’re originally from Hawaii and then relocated to Austin which is where I used to see them in the 1980’s

Loved it. Looks like the cameraman was fascinated by the accordion, huh? Beautiful song, beautiful band. Thanks for sharing!

This moment, captured for posterity, may be the acme of the Austin music scene.

I can't believe I can't remember if I've seen this performance before. Since I first heard this around the time the album came out I've always thought it had one of the coolest guitar solos I've ever heard, and I've always been a music nerd. It sounds like it has cool finger picking and slide going on at the same time and has key changes(?). I don't know. It's really complex. When I concentrate on it, my eyes look around in like 3 different directions like; where's all this coming from :)

Susan on violin was my next door neighbor. Of course I had a crush on her. So talented. I didn’t have a chance!

I saw them live around this time and a great thing about Poi is that everyone in that band is fun to watch. But I was entranced by the way Susan would half-hop and half-stomp on the stage while she played. I've been nuts about her ever since.

I was cleaning out some things underneath my bed and found their album from vic theater 1995. It must have been my moms from long before. I decided to look them up and I have to admit they are pretty fun haha and on top of finding a nice band I now have their cd signed by all the people in it :) it has been a great day! haha

I'm trying to figure out why the appearances of Gary Busey doing Stay All Night, Tower of Power doing The Attitude Dance that aired on David Letterman's Late Night Show does not appear on KZitem??? Should I post them??? These's are some of the greatest performances that I still watch that the rest of the world is deprived of. What's the deal buddy..are my people putting me on????? I'll wait for an answer. I just hope it's good enough. Or is it an control issue people. Just saying, Peace.

Great band. Long history of personnel changes, and long history of excellent music-making. Love 'em. Hawaii, Austin, Chicago. Arcade Fire sounds just like 'em, but no love for Poi Dog?
