I recently came across your paper on the Mathematical Approach to Classifying Poi Patterns, and I just have to say your understanding into the concepts into Poi is absolutely mind blowing! Big fan of of your work, passion, and flow, Drex!

Thank you! This video gave me some clarification that really cleaned up my stalls and isolations! Thanks for your content.😁

Hey Drex, great video as always! Thanks a ton for these videos, keeping me sane during this last unemployed month of quarantine. Also, damn that's a great shirt, really good vibes. I googled to find it, found nothing, did you just get that custom?? Next, a super long digression from a big fan: It's just so amazing to me how you've crafted this whole system of how to teach poi from scratch - multiple videos, even 1 minute AND 10-minute versions of similar tricks... It's all super helpful, and my girlfriend (and I) truly cannot believe the progress I've made from zero to decent - and growing - in the past 4 months alone. I've actually documented my process (actually, exactly like you mentioned in a recent video about practice, I think), and I came up with a Google Sheet where I 1) Created sections of categories of skills/growth. 2) Labeled my skill according to a color-coded scale of {HARD, Needs Work, Okay, Comfortable} 3) Have a snapshot of each of the past 4 months. [The Groupings, If Curious] 1. Fundamentals (Plane Control, Timing/Direction, 2 Beats, Extensions, Stalls) 2. Beginner Track 3. In-Spin 4. Anti-Spin 5. Weaves/Fountains 6. Pendulums 7. Advanced Flowers + CAPs 8. Body Tracers 9. Hybrids + Antibrids 10. Wraps 11. Contact 12. Throws 13. Dance + Whirling 14. Floor Plane But anyway, what I realized just from documenting myself, is that this system could be extended to learning tons of other skills. For example - I have other hobbies. One is playing the guitar. I learned fingerstyle acoustic as a kid, now I want to learn electric for progressive rock. How do I build the skills, and structure what I learn to actually make progress effectively? (This is difficult!) Well, why not a similar Google Sheet structure? (Real copy-paste from my sheet, that I only made yesterday, after rewatching some of the guitar KZitemrs I follow...): FUNDAMENTALS Alternate Picking (Down - Up), Economy Picking (Down - Up - Down), Finger Picking Fret Board Memory, Scales, Modes, Arpeggios, Triads, Chords / Voicings, CAGED System, Odd Groupings (For Scales) ADVANCED TECHNIQUES Sweep Picking, Rake, Hybrid Picking, Tapping, Tremolo Picking, Natural Harmonics, Tap Harmonics, Circular Picking, Thumping, Double Thumping Conclusion!? In your KZitem channel lies an amazing ABSTRACT form of how to learn anything! For example, I started getting into Chess, also much from KZitem, and I swear you could do something similar. Idk maybe all of you already had these systemic ways to learn things, but I sure as hell didn't, and I'm 25. I think this will really help me learn any and all things moving forward. Bravo Drex!!! Keep up the great work, and I'm in the Flow Circle for life! (About to go through your Isolation series.) Peace!

Ah okay and if it wasn't obvious - those are the high-level poi categories - many of them having 10+ sheet lines, each referencing a specific skill, pattern, or video (that can be conveniently linked to!). For example, this is what I have for Hybrids / Antibrids: Forwards, Up, Back, Down (CAP v Extension) Anti-Spin vs Weave The Nevisol Static Spin vs Extension CAP vs Pendulum Static Spin vs Pendulum Static Spin vs Pendulum, Top To Bottom Pendulum vs Extension Triquetra vs Extension Triquetra vs Pendumulm CAP Extension Hybrid Static Spin vs Triquetra, Down Isolated Pendulums 4-Pedal Diamond Anti-Spin vs Cateye Static Spin vs Isolation, SS Fractal Flower Antibrids (Drex) Anti-Brid Transitions So most of these are directly from you, but the first is from playpoi, and they could be from anywhere!
