Question of the day: If you had to design a prominent landmark to mark your fictional city, what would that landmark be?

Definitely a monorail.

It would be a statue in remembrance of all of the fallen heroes. I'm thinking surviving heroes or friends, standing around a fallen hero's qualta blade, driven into a table.

I think we'd go with a revolving board game cafe on top of an iconic tower in the city center! Maybe some sort of mechanism to create a giant tumbling dice effect as the space revolves? Ha! Really put board games on the map! Thanks so much for the awesome video - we are so thrilled that you both enjoy Point City! :)

Tempted to say giant red panda statue, but going with my first thought of hybrid cat/board game cafe. You have your choice of three different areas to spend time in: board games only, cats only, or chaos mode, where there are cats AND board games and every box is definitely going to be sat in and every piece is going to get knocked down to the floor. Good luck. I love the giant globe idea, and could definitely see that getting knocked off and rolling down the street in a disaster movie. Loved this video! I agree about it being easy to learn. The first time I play a game I prefer to be able to reference a rulebook myself, but playing a prototype of this I was able to learn it and understand it from a teach even when I was exhausted due to convention life. I'm excited to pick this one up!

Well now I’m sad because my globe has caused a disaster! It would be at top of a big hill too! I felt the same way Charlotte! Hopefully we can play it together one of these days!

I had no idea this game existed! In your kallax cube challenge, I fully just thought you were saying 'Point Siddy' as though 'siddy' were some new slang for 'salad' 😂
@kovray

Well it is an early copy so that makes sense! I’m going to have to call Point Salad Point Siddy now, will have to brainstorm how it got from salad to siddy though because it definitely deserves a good story!

I actually was hoping it would be more like Point Salad! I have Happy City and I feel like it’s too similar to that to buy both.
@kovray
Жыл бұрын
Oh we didn’t even think about that comparison! I can see the similarity but I would definitely say that Happy City is much lighter than Point City. There’s more variability in Point City too as you can collect different civic tokens or try to collect high scoring buildings while Happy City you’re always trying to maximize that balance and also in just ten cards. I appreciate you bringing it up and respect your opinion if you consider them too similar to own both :)

Another preview said that, once per turn, if a row or column contains only resource cards, you can flip the entire row or column to the building side. Wondering which is correct--flipping just one card or an entire row or column. Thanks.

@@kovray I just read the rulebook on the kickstarter page and you are correct. You may only flip ONE card is a row or column that contains only resource cards. (BTW, I'm the OP above. Great preview ! Splendor felt a bit flat for me though I like engine building. I feel this has an extra crunch that I would enjoy ! The landmark in my city would be an ancient aqueduct that has been transformed into a giant water slide that people would use to move in the city :)
