this is my bad on the darkness of the video. A comment got the better of me and I removed the brightness filter I had on my OBS. This looks WAAAAY too dark on my phone. That filter definitely needed some adjustment so maybe this is a blessing in disguise.

Why take thrust over dagger mastery? Isn't the magic dmg already doing enough work against PDR opponents?

the meta has shifted since this video slightly so now I would prefer Dagger Mastery. at this time, Stiletto had 10% innate armor penetration. Clerics also were a bit stronger - and they almost completely negate the first few stacks of poison with their Perseverance & Protection From Evil perks. Even naked Clerics can destroy kitted Rogues with Divine Protection, Smite and those 2 perks. So it's preparing for the worst situation. It wasn't so much for PDR fighters

Poison weapon seems crazy in the current cleric meta where poison weapon lasts literally one to two ticks.

Clerics always been our biggest counter. But as much as this game is rock/paper/scissors, rogue high ms let’s you decide if you want to play with a cleric or not. I would guess you’re not a brand new player, so you might be able to relate more than others here. Clerics might be the easiest class for me to gauge their skill level. I always poke the bear and depending on their reaction, I decide if the fight is worth it or not. If it’s a good cleric dueller, it just ends up being a stalemate with the Cleric eventually winning. The only real option is to be a coward and kite the scary cleric with no shirt on until a third party interferes lol

I heard that true mag doesnt work on poison were they wrong? The most you can get for it is 4 add magic in total on 2 rings back and head

Why don't you take 2 daggers, just to have the 10% armor pen bonus with the dagger you won't use?

I don’t understand what you mean exactly. But I don’t use two daggers because I want the 10 extra move speed. I’m also moving quicker with a weapon drawn while creeping.

@@RatRoggae your offhand weapon static stats apply to your mainhand weapon and vice versa so if you dual wield daggers you recieve the 10% arm pen from rondel while using a stiletto to stab people so you end up with 20% arm pen from just the daggers alone take thrust you're at 40% arm pen same applys to the rapier while using a hand crossbow your rapier receives the 5% arm pen from the hand crossbow if that make sense

@@zackster5327it does make sense but it’s pretty situational. Solo rogue you usually want more movement speed than not. I understand the logic behind both using and not using and if you feel like you can get away with -10ms you can go for dual wield.

He knows this, most rogue mains don't use Two daggers and if they do it's for a swap, the 10 Move speed isn't worth it overall, we are a very squishy clash and without move speed we are gutted unless you camp 1 corner for 14 minutes@@zackster5327

@@zackster5327 10% armour pen is also not very much for 10 move speed (its 5% now) but even when it was 10% it was still kinda silly unless you were trying to hit 100% reduction for memes 10% of a person with 60% armour is a 6% damage increase, if the person you're stabbing has only 20% armour you now only deal 2% more damage, for 10 movespeed. people pay like thousands of gold for +5 movespeed stat on boots, taking away 10 is kinda troll for the tiny situational damage boost.

does the True magical damage really add on to the poison? did you test it on a dummy and see each poison tick?

@@RatRoggae have you tried putting additional magic instead of true magic? I saw some other people did that with like 17 per tick on full stacks. I forgot if that guy had 18 or 21 additional magic build.

i found it for you so you don't need to go searching not sure if im totally right, but it's worked for me when i do this math before testing on a dummy. i editted it to hopefully make it clearer. True Magical Damage affects Poison Weapon for Rogue. So I do ~9 damage per tick with +7. Base poison weapon with 15 magic power does 4dmg x 5 stacks = 20 damage 20 damage over 4 seconds = 5dmg per tick Now that is affected by resists, say 20%. It would be 4 damage less total off the 20. 4dmg per tick. for a total of 16 dmg/4 seconds Now take 7 true magical damage and do the same, but you get half value (as per the tooltip). 7dmg x 5 stacks = 35 true damage/2 = 17.5 true damage over 4 seconds at 5 stacks 17.5/4 = 4.375 true per second 4.375 true damage + 5 dmg base poison @ 15 magic power = 9.375 magic resist affects only the base damage. cleric talents reduce the damage almost totally units round up or down as expected it seems to me when looking at dummy numbers

@@playeryin additional magic is fine, but worse this season. there are no +additional base necklaces like the phoenix choker for +True Magical. so you can only get +5 currently with additional magical damage. and potentially +9 with a unique phoenix choker. and then the additional magical damage is affected by magic resistance, reducing it further you used to be able to get +2 on hat, rings, cloaks. and there was a brief moment where you could get +3 additional magic on the cloak and rings, alongside huge +2 all stat on every piece of gear. while only being able to reach +2 true on the same. this is where you probably saw a +21 video. but it's no longer like that currently
