Thanks. I'll have to visit this beautiful canyon. Found this after watching your Wolverine Loop part 2. I like hearing your commentary, as well. Now I'll go check out Jared's video to see how sketchy the river crossing might be.

a7wd...Thanks for wonderful comment and viewing our video...Much appreciated! As you mentioned, crossing the Dirty Devil River in the spring might be a little "Sketchy" as the water level may be a little high. I believe Jared mentions that during his video so definitely watch his video. Thanks again, take care and be safe out there.

John thanks for watching and subscribing. It is much appreciated! I am currently working on a video for "Temple Mountain Road" and it should be out soon. We went as far as "Red's Canyon" and did Red's Canyon Loop. Spectacular scenery in Red's Canyon and the road is very good (Easy for a Jeep). A video will follow after Temple Mtn for Red's Canyon Loop.

Ground clearance and good approach angles are more important than 4WD. I've read about people trying to go through her in Subarus and they didn't make it. The road work may have improved that somewhat.

You are exactly right on the ground clearance and approach angle (Please see my comment on Part 1 regarding the road condition). It's funny you mention the Subaru, when we went on the Wolverine Loop for the first time many years ago we saw a Toyota Prius, with 2 young couples, and they had come from the Eastern entrance. We came from the Western entrance and encountered them at Mile 9 so they had already come approximately 17 miles in that Prius ( I am sure it was a rental). We chatted with them a few minutes to make sure they had plenty of water and were doing OK. We assume they made it out. Too bad I didn't have my Go Pro then as it would have made a great segment for a video. Anyway, thanks for watching...It is much appreciated!

I drove this road this past June in my RAM 2500 diesel and continued down from where you turned around. it appeared worse than it actually was. However, like you, I turned around priio to reaching the Dirty Devil.

We are heading back to this area in Oct 2023 and we will get at least to the dirty Devil River. Crossing it will depend on the condition/height of the river. Thanks for commenting and watching our video. It is sincerely appreciated!

Thanks again for another great comment. Hanksville is being discovered. There are many wonderful places to explore. If you like a traditional roadside hamburger stand try Stan's Burger Shack on Highway 95 just as you leave Hanksville going South. Good burgers and shakes!

@@cactushillMaybe It's not a good thing that Hanksville is being discovered but it does look like there is a lot of area to explore as you said. I definitely will be visiting and exploring the area. Thank you for the burger stand recommendation, I appreciate it.

@@elgringolocothetraveler I think the "Covid Era" helped discover a lot of places in Utah. We have been coming to the Capitol Reef National Park area since 2010 and we have noticed a steady increase in visitation but none more so than the last few years. Anyway, have a great time exploring the area. We love it and we think you will too!

I don't know if it was this video or one of your other videos that you mentioned hating shelf roads. But I'm with you 100%. I've spent many years in the Utah desert and have done some pretty scary shelf roads and switchbacks. I hate them. However it does not stop me from driving them. But I HATE them. As I get older i don't know if my old heart can take them anymore...lol. As long as they wide roads they don't make my heart pitter patter too much. Love your videos of the Hanksville area.

Angie...The video I mentioned my "Love" for shelf roads was "Reds Canyon Loop - Part 2". When we came around the corner and I saw that shelf road (That was totally unexpected) my wife had to talk me through it. She knows I am not a fan. I think you hit on the exact reason that I get intimidated by them...What if I have a heart attack or stoke? Also, there is very little room for error. What if the brakes fail, the steering rod breaks...All these things go through my head. Another reason I get concerned is that if I am alone then it's only me and I might die doing something I love but my wife is always with me and I don't want her to suffer for something I did. She always tells me...Don't worry as least we will go together. Anyway...Thanks for the wonderful comment and viewing our channel. It is sincerely appreciated!

Angie...I received your reply about going out "Thelma and Louise style" via an email from KZitem but, for some reason it does not show up here in our "Comments Chain". Yes, encountering another vehicle on a shelf road made for one would not be fun. Anyway, have fun out there and thanks again for commenting and viewing our channel...It is sincerely appreciated!

Scott we were there last week and we ended up running out of time and again didn't make it to the Dirty Devil River crossing. We encountered a group of side-by-sides and they turned around and headed back when they reached the river. They said it didn't look too bad but they hadn't planned on crossing anyway. If you go to www.usgs.gov you can find water flow rates and level data that might help or just get there and evaluate to cross or not to cross. Have fun and be safe!

Poison Spring canyon has been on my list for a while. This fall 20203 I hope to drive it. I am very impressed with your videos. Not only the great locations, but also how smooth they are. I wonder if you could share some info on how you create such a stable and shake free video over these bumpy roads.

Thanks for the wonderful comment. I use a GoPro Hero 9 camera that has a setting called "Image Stabilization". All the modern "Action" type cameras have them such as Go Pro, DJI, and Insta360, to name a few. I mount it to my front bumper (I hate seeing someones front hood all the time). The only challenge with it being on the front bumper is that it occasionally overheats. People have asked me if I have had any debris hit the camera and so far...No. Anyway, thanks again for commenting, viewing our channel & subscribing. It is sincerely appreciated.
