Silvuddy's Notes:
- Vs. Wild Pokémon (Main Overworld): The first one really only plays in Poco Path, but the game labels it as the default and it most closely aligns with the style of prior wild encounter themes. The rest all remix the overworld exploration theme in their area with an upbeat arrangement.
- Vs. Pokémon Trainer: This might be the shortest trainer theme in the whole series, but it gets somewhat catchy after a while!
- Vs. Rival/Champion Nemona: Nemona's normal Rival theme is fun and peppy like Hop's and Hau's before her, but the Champion rendition really brings her musical motifs to life in a pulse-pounding battle theme.
- Vs. Arven: There are some really interesting combinations of instruments here, with multiple jazz organ sounds, accordion, and more creating an interesting recipe (pun intended!) for a stylish battle theme.
- Tera Raid Battle: Once again Toby Fox returns to compose more Pokémon music! His way of making you feel like you can do anything with friends at your side shines through with this theme.
- Vs. Gym Leader: Taking a step up from Sword/Shield's dynamic Gym Leader themes (and crowd chanting), this one increases in intensity with every next Pokémon.
- Vs. Titan Pokémon: This theme is kind of hectic with that piano going all over the place in the intro, fitting the feeling of besting a giant creature run amok.
- Vs. Team Star Grunt / Team Star Base Raid: Teruo Taniguchi composed all the amazing Team Star-related music, giving us some killer synth-rock/metal stuff.
- Vs. Team Star Boss: In-universe, the boss named Giacomo is responsible for producing Team Star's music. Does this mean that the Starmobiles are pounding this awesome guitar solo through speakers every time you fight one of the bosses?
- Vs. Team Star Big Boss Penny: A.K.A. Cassiopeia, the surprise creator of Team Star gets straight up hardcore EDM for a battle theme.
- Vs. Director Clavell: This theme actually incorporates melodies from the Naranja/Uva Academy theme (which I believe was also by Toby Fox).
- Vs. Elite Four: There's a hilarious glitch that used to happen with this theme: the ethereal intro ambience persists through the entire battle, and you never get to hear the awesome true battle theme.
- Vs. Top Champion Geeta: The same glitch can happen in this theme, which is a shame because this is probably Jun'ichi Masuda's last composition for the series! While Geeta might be lackluster, this Champion theme goes hard, once again incorporating the main Pokémon theme for the intro.
- Vs. Treasure of Ruin: Who expected Asian-style instruments in a Spain-based region? Either way, this theme slaps with that persistent syncopated riff the whole time.
- Vs. Wild Pokémon (Area Zero) / Paradox Pokémon: The Area Zero theme was also composed by Toby Fox, with the battle theme bringing the melody uptempo. The version for Paradox Pokémon actually only plays when the player and their friends are ambushed right before entering the Zero Lab, rather than for every wild Paradox Pokémon.
- Vs. AI Professor Sada/Turo: This theme combines two of Toby Fox's compositions, the Tera Raid and Area Zero themes, for one of the best final boss themes in a Pokémon game to date.
- Vs. Paradise Protection Protocol: It's hard to consider this Koraidon/Miraidon's true theme, especially considering the battle in which you catch them uses the Area Zero battle theme. This music actually takes motifs from the South Province theme, which was also partially written by Toby Fox.
- Academy Ace Tournament: And finally yet another Toby Fox composition, incorporating the Academy theme much like Clavell. This has one of the longest loop points in a battle theme ever for the series.
