We used to have a f*cking useless dealer who would look at folded hands, literally just pick them up and hold them about two feet away from his face, so about 4 players sitting near him could also see the folded hand. F*cking shameful dealer. He was soon fired of course. Funny thing was though, he got fired because he was just too slow at dealing and that caused about 50 players to complain about him plus everything else he did.... barely spoke English. I'm all for having any race doing any job or whatever they want to do in life, race is irrelevant... but the language barrier was a huge problem. The dealer is absolutely shook! Notice how he goes to take her cards then pauses to see if she objects but she isn't looking. The dealer is too on the spot and he doesn't know wtf is going on in the game. 100% the dealer's fault, but if the inspector allows her to retrieve her cards, whoever else is in that hand will make a huge deal out of the fact that her cards were mucked, no matter who mucked them. In this case, the player should be refunded her buy-ins and the dealer put on a PIP or fired from the tournament.

The player did absolutely nothing wrong. The dealer is NEVER supposed to touch a player's cards until after the player has slid the cards forward towards the muck !! She had pushed all-in, and had her cards far behind and almost touching the elbow cushion.

Revisiting this video. She said "I had *two aces* " and I do believe her, since they would've tried to find her cards (yet they were shittily unsuccessful there...) but n the bright side.... the other players could easily have things like 77, or KQ and one could flop a set or one could flop two pair. You can't be too precious about AA pre-flop, even though going all in is the 'by-the-book' move.
@callumlee8386

I mean that doesn't make sense as an argument you could have 2 3 and still hit two pair. Your idea of AA not being good makes no sense ever preflop...
@liamnevilleviolist1809

@@callumlee8386 Well of course it's a shoving hand pre-flop, just like KK is as well, and perhaps QQ too, but let's be honest..... until you've seen a flop, it's just *one* pair. That is fairly low down on the rankings of hands ultimately. So she gets upset, sure, anyone would, but the amount of aces that get cracked simply because people get too attached to them.. well there's tons of footage of that.

@@wydellbirchwood9146 I'd like to bring up GTO here. Obviously, the best "by-the-book" play is to get AA and play them. But there are so many variants. The biggest one being, *who* you're playing against, and secondly: *how many* people you're playing against. I can tell you: playing cash games every week at my casino, shoving with pocket aces pre is NOT going to win the majority of the time. So many two-pairs getting there, or other pocket pairs spiking a set. People forget that AA is just *one-pair* which is very fair down on the list of hands in poker. In fact it's literally second from the bottom in hand rankings It's literally just one hand better than a high-card. I personally like to play flops. I've lost more than I've won with shoving with AA pre-flop. People will call with their "favourite hand" which could well be 98suited and get there. Sometimes it's about seeing the flop first. But yes. By-the-book, go all in pre-flop with AA if you want to be a robot and/or can't read a fkn room and the bad vibes within it.

You can see how easy it is if you’re sitting in the 1 or 9 seat for the dealer to mistakenly swipe your cards into the muck. I’ve been dealing for 10 years and I’ve done it maybe 4 or 5 times. If you deal poker you’re gonna do it at some point.
