Welcome to the world of poker. In this video I analyze this game at a mathematical level so that you know before playing some basic concepts and how can be more easy to win at Poker. I get inside a real casino to record some shots of a live tournament.
The video begins with an introduction to the rules of poker at a general level for both online poker and live poker. I also explain that Texas Holdem Poker is a French card game where there are two types of tournament or cash. The objective in both is to win as many chips as possible.
Then I show all the poker hands that can be flirted which are as follows:
-ROYAL FLUSH
-STRAIGHT FLUSH
-FOUR OF A KIND
-FULL HOUSE
-FLUSH
-STRAIGHT
-THREE OF A KIND
-DOUBLE PAIR
-PAIR
-HIGH CARD
These hands are sorted by priority so the highest always beats the lowest. And in case of a tie decide the highest card.
All these hands are linked with a certain probability so I make a study of each and every one of them calculating the odds for all. Reaching the conclusion that the higher a move is less likely is, and vice versa, the lower the odds you have to flirt. The most probable move is the pair and the least the royal flush. But in no case do any of these hands have a more than half probability.
-ROYAL FLUSH: 0,0001%
-STRAIGHT FLUSH: 0,001%
-FOUR OF A KIND: 0,02%
-FLUSH: 0,2%
-FULL HOUSE: 0,1%
-THREE OF A KIND: 2,1%
-TWO PAIR: 4,75%
-PAIR: 42%
Then I introduce the concept of hand project, and show pictures where we can see how television calculates the odds of all players. Unfortunately we can't see what cards our rivals have, so we consider poker at a mathematical level as a game of incomplete and imperfect information. For this reason the players have to look for the probabilities accumulating information of their rivals to have a number as approximate to their real probabilities.
At this point, I define the concept of odds and outs, which are the way of working that is used in poker to calculate our odds. And we learn with a color project how to apply the formula of the odds with 9 outs. In order not to complicate it too much I offer a table of odds and outs for you to calculate on your own that is used for the stages of flop and turn mainly. In it we study some curiosities of some projects such as ladder or color. We can also see in the tables that almost no project is going to have more than a 50% chance. So we won't normally link our project most of the time.

Then I introduce you the rule of 2 and the rule of 4 which are ways to approximate the odds with a simple formula that you can apply when you play poker online or live. And we apply our color project to calculate our odds by multiplying by 2 in the turn.
Finally I show you my poker calculator, which is used to compare different hands and know which of them is more likely to win either with or without community cards. Then I show you the relationship between our real odds and our odds, using again as an example our color project.
