I still have my black M400 (plus I bought a second-hand blue one last year). I still use it nearly every day for running, targeting daily goals and for Bluetooth to the Polar App. It still has long-lasting battery, great connectivity for its time and is good for sleep measurement. I'd probably buy a Grit X or V2 next, but I still find it hard to justify the change when the M400 is still solid.

DC Rainmaker I just got Polar M400 as a gift. Before I went for my 1st run with it, I checked your video - very helpful. Allowed me to skip reading the manual. Many thanks for posting this.

I really like this watch and Polar does a good job in quality control. My biggest complaint is that they have yet to add Android to their smartphone notifications. Garmin has both IOS and Android updates so it can not be as difficult as Polar makes it sound. The question then becomes, are they only marketing their watches to IPhone users? This would be a tragic mistake for them for a litany of reasons. Great job DCRAINMAKER as always. You are the best at what you do!

Great video-review Ray. Very informative as always, but it's kind of annoying that all the audio was left-channel only. The only sound through the right ear was the video clip of you running with the watch.

Thanks Kyle (and Tony). I was using a new wireless mic for the first time, I'll go back and poke and see what's up and see if it's just single-channeling. Hadn't noticed it listening on crappy laptop speakers. Thanks!

I have an old Polar RCX3. I like it very much. Pace readout though is only reliable when I run consistently close to the calibrated pace. Above and below that I get false readouts. Is the M400 pace readout consistent and close to your actual pace? You see the need to buy a stride sensor?

I have a Dilemma. I currently use a FT60 and earlier in the year I bought the Garmin Forerunner 220 for running. Now I see that polar released the new models and while I am leaning toward the A300 since I have a GPS watch, would I miss anything from the M400. Its a shame I didnt see this before I bought my 220 and am wondering how it compares to the garmin and what would you with regards of the a300 to m400 if I already have the Garmin?

Just one doubt that I didn't get. So if I make a costum workout on polar flow and tag that as favorite, them sync the M400, so I would just need to go to favorites on the watch and I could have acces all my favorites workouts on the fly? And a curiosity: I would like to know how is it on going trhough a workout. It has a timer which starts when you reach the object of each session of the workout and them advice you when it's over and change to the next part? example: 400m at pace < 3min/km them 2 min recovery... How would it be?

Hello. How's the gps accurancy? Fellrnr posted it loses connection often. Plus how's the actual pace on m400? Does it change/react so often (1s) like on garmin fr 15? I run 10-25km so I need simple watch, which one could you suggest: polar m400, garmin fr 15, garmin fr 220? Most important for me is actual pace change as often as possible.
@Dcrainmaker
9 жыл бұрын
While I appreciate the effort that Fellrnr goes to, he only measures his run on a single (rather complex trail running) course, as opposed to the varied conditions I look at. I don't see any issues with dropping connections or satellite connectivity. And, looking at the many hundreds of comments - there are only a couple people that see issues (which, is part for the course with any watch).

Two questions: (1) can you hear the watch beeps while running, counting automatic laps? I've had trouble hearing the watch in my RC3 GPS. (2) Is the contrast clear enough to see the digits clearly while running and in the dark? Thank you!

+Mohawk In Belgium As I understood, the M400 have rechargeble batteries. So you don't need to change it. It will take some years to get bad and discharge fast, as some cellphones does. Them you just buy another one.

Gino Punsalan At the end if this video, you'll see him talking about the USB port on the back of the watch. You just connect it to the computer and go to Polar Flow website. If the watch has any updates, it will be updated. 😊
