Yeah, it doesn't take long to figure out that rioting & looting costs businesses more money than they take in. In turn, the damage to businesses negatively impacts tax revenues, which is why Miami Beach city leaders have imposed these restrictions. It's simple economics. If criminal behavior costs more money than it brings in, then local leaders have to treat visitors like children, until they begin to behave like adults. I think that Miami Beach is becoming like Boca Raton, a place that attracts visitors over 40 with disposable income. The riff-raff under 30, who are delinquent on their child support payments, will need to vacation "somewhere else".

@whatdoesnt Sir or Ma'am. I live in Aventura. These businesses are seasonal. Spring Break is a great income generator because kids are out of the school and people from the North are getting out of the cold. Those people up north don't visit South Beach in the summer because the weather is nice where they are at and South Florida is humid. So this is essentially 4 weeks of prime salea wasted. A business can't make that up. Like I said in my first reply. You can tell the people who don't own a business.
@whatdoesnt

@@lyfeofbill2764 Most restrictions end this weekend so only 2 weeks. These restrictions have been in the legislation for months and have been talked about since last year, these come to no surprise to local business owners. Once again, the people that pushed for these restrictions were actually the business owners, and local residents. I know people that live there, people that work there at various businesses, including restaurants, and people that are taking a hit to their AirBnB condos. Everybody says that it’s slower than anticipated, but the restaurants aren’t dead. They still have people coming just not as much as years prior. I applaud the officials for taking the necessary steps to protect the safety and sanctity of life above money and profits. Murders and violence should never be tolerated in a community. I’d like to think that the officials in Aventura would also impose heavy restrictions if people were being murdered in the streets and rampant violence prevailing during spring break.

Well if y'all would know how to act when you go somewhere this wouldn't happen. Teach your kids how to behave, so they won't jump on cars, destroy others property stop interviewing these crybabies

Yeah. Now, Miami has that Venezuelan street gang "Tren de Aragua" brutalizing people like they've been doing in Latin America for the last 10 years. I can only imagine Tren de Aragua in South Beach getting into the fray with street thugs from all over the U.S. It would be a blood bath.

the only part i find questionable is the raised fees and parking situation where tow trucks seem to be allowed to operate almost with criminal abandon and price gouge.

Think spring break is just college kids taking a break from hitting the books? Guess again. Many so-called spring breakers haven’t ever seen the inside of a college classroom. And for those who have, who’s footing the bill for these beach getaways? It’s worth asking if they’ve really “earned” this break, especially when you consider the state of some colleges - more like extended vacations with hefty price tags, offering degrees that don’t cut it in the real world. All this, often funded by student loans backed by our tax dollars. We’re not just talking about time off from school; we’re talking about a system that’s letting down students and taxpayers alike.

Wait, you mean they are not allowing college foreign exchange students from Asia or the Middle East to come to Miami for Spring Break, because they cause trouble?
