You are expecting to pass some questionable or flat out illegal laws in the future (or as they're doing now, just enforcing illegal laws), you have a segment of the police force who will refuse to comply. If you pressure them out by making their jobs unbearable and simultaniously making the public hate them, you only get the dregs remaining in the force or applying to join the force. And these dregs will do anything you say as long as they get paid and have a badge to derive authority from. Things are going to get really bad over the next couple of decades.

Yeah. I'm a vet with flawless record and masters degree. My sisters husband and I were in hiring process for a local sheriffs office. Her husband got the job. Even though he has no military service, a 2 year degree, he is also a hardcore alcoholic (prior to police work too) his mother found him torturing baby chickens as a child on the farm, this guy has 2 speeding tickets and is abusive as hell to my sister and their daughter...both of which have been hospitalized due to injuries from him. Somehow I was rejected vs that!?!??! I only applied because I wanted to ensure he didnt get the job, and I knew that I had all qualifications above and beyond him. @@TheEvilCheesecake my dearest friend, I believe you mistaken my point. I am only saying that the police’s old practices for hiring, I don’t know their current policy, excluded people who were more exceptional than some police officers I know now. The policy practices of refusing to hire someone with say a record, even though the record was more than 7 years old, and the person legit turn their life around, are a hinderance to hiring good police officers. I’m not saying hire everyone with a criminal record. I’m saying allow the policies to be flexible when there’s an obviously good candidate to be a police officer. Again, I’m not saying take anyone with a record, there are ways to qualify individuals.

It's not a joke tho. I know people that are now 35-40 years old and they can't get a job with a police department because they got into an argument with a teacher in 10th grade 😂. Ironically if you are a convicted felon and you get your record expunged you can join the police but of you had an argument with your highschool teacher you are banned for life.
