Kind of weird since Neil Peart and Elizabeth Wurtzel died on the same day.

This might be the best of all PI episodes. All four guests were smart and funny - and I cannot think of another time that happened. That reading from Diana Ross's book was a riot. Most Real Time's aren't this good.

If this was the best PI ep I'm so glad I never watched it... Maher's gotten much smarter and more mature since then 'cause otherwise I'd never watch RealTime. Funny that Elizabeth's laughing at Diana Ross 'cause those're precisely the egotistical delusions she herself talks about.

Jules Mekler I've never read Elizabeth's work, I'm only judging this superficially. All guests came off fairly well in this episode IIRC. Of course most of the Real Time shows are much better, although they've been getting lame lately.

The book exerpts were quite funny. Can't imagine reading that whole thing... really compelling writing there.

Poor guy. Neil Peart. He just seems so uncomfortable doing this.

So she's saying basically at the beginning of this if you're 40 and you still are a geek and you play the Legos and build like sophisticated stuff you're still acting like a kid and you still have a kid mentality?

I dont think Wurtzel was saying anything about Legos. She was referring to journalists who write about frivolous topics as if they're serious, especially at the short lived UK publication "Modern Review."

This show is so pretentious and contradictory (pop culture is so dumb but I love laughing at drunks)... I just wanted to hear what Elizabeth Wurtzel sounds like as I have only read her book ... but damn these guys are so cringe 😂

Maher is smart but often his show just seems about ridiculing people as a form of entertainment.
