I was like "yeah, ok this is starting to make sense" then the time lapse happened and ya lost me. Pretty colors tho.

Dude the vid is amazing, one of your best in my opinion. I'd love a full commentary but I know that, with your situation, it may be a lot to ask. Ty for your effort Arglin, keep up the good work!

Recently found this channel from the Polylympics and have been watching other videos of yours! I just want to say that you are REALLY talented, and I love your creativity, innovation, skills, and you make Poly Bridge and building contraptions an Art. The fact that you are still in high school is all the more impressive. I hope that you continue creating content around your interests whatever those may be. Anyway, I am looking forward to whatever you post next!

The goal of this mechanism is to split the hydraulic phase into two. At 7:26, Arglin has made two of those pill-shape linkages but they are out-of-phase by 90 degrees. The mechanism added around 9:40 simply creates a 45-degree motion to power the thing. At 10:15, you can see that the pairs of blue boxes move one after the other. This means that you can use this to power the bridge since only one car can fit through the gap. Looking at what the mechanism does, when the curves steepen, it rotates the boxes that are connected to the curve associated. You can utilise the fact that the blue boxes move one after the other to create a lift mechanism. This could be done by simply having some arms move each of the lift cars up and down about a certain point. (pretty sure the black arms in the timelapse are responsible for moving the lift car to the right place) and you'd just need to find a way to connect the arms to the blue squares and make sure everything doesn't break. Also, you need to make sure the lifts move to the right place.

Just imagine driving up to this IRL and having complete trust in it. This is a beautiful example of a system that is absolutely beautiful in a simulation, but would be incredibly difficult if not possible to do even in a model form because of material restrictions. The number of points of failure in this system are insane. Love the video Arglin!

I had a good sense of everything happening in the time-lapse. However, with your excellent explanation of the engine in the beginning, I really did expect you to piece out the rest of the build in a similar fashion.

Yeahhh you could tell I kind of gave up after explaining the engine. I should've really tried something better like a live commentary cut (similar to my latest upload), but I just didn't have the energy to do so. Sorry about that! (;´∀`)
