Thanks for the video, what height do you set your feed gate on the polly when spreading salt/sand mix?

I like either wide open! Personal preference tho. I like going fast when sanding and salting

Supposedly our dealer said if you want the steel caster to lay sand they have to send the remote in to be programmed for sand. The steel caster is set to salt. Not sure why they do that but just figured I would let you know

Mix or straight salt thay work , I'm in a western poly caster , running fisher plow , I find the western has a bigger wider belt setup on the poly then the fishers casters

I’ve had polycasters for a few years now. They’ve been great. I always opt for the vibrator too. However, my newest 5500 has a service body and the steelcaster is apparently the only one of the two that’ll fit width wise. Haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet

@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry the super duper body upfitter sold me a polycaster with the service body, then realized it wouldn’t fit. So we put the 2.5’er in our 5500 dump. Used it 3-4 times this season already. Works good

We've run Poly Castes for years now and one thing I HATE is the amount of salt that plasters the passenger side of my F450, bumper all the way up to the top of the taillight. Ive tried installing thicker rubber curtain between the spreader itself and spinner backing plate but still getting a bunch of salt. This year I might try building a platform for it to sit on, high enough so I can put the spinner housing on the taller setting but I still need to be at least 12" off the ground.

@@tandtlandscapeandmasonry Ive said for years now that they need a middle setting on that spinner housing.
