Thank you very much for sharing how you go about it. :) This motivates me to study Korean even if I can only do it two or three times per week and very shortly. I've been wanting to learn Korean for a _very long time,_ but was always frustrated that I couldn't consistently make a lot of time for it, because I really wanted to see what that will be like. But now I think that if I keep waiting for such circumstances I may never start. I'm preparing for my Bachelors now - I'll study IT/computer science but I'm bad at math and have no prior knowledge lol so I want to prepare as much as I can beforehand or the pace will be too fast for me. Right now I work full time so I don't have much free time and it all goes for prep. When I start my major and hopefully settle in nicely into a consistent scedule, I may start learning Korean. Maybe I'll have the same scedule you have but instead of Portugese and Vietnamese I'll do Korean and piano. :)

Not related to the video but i think a reason why a lot struggles to learn a language is they are afraid to make mistakes and are too grammatically inclined. Some focus more on proficiency tests and those who actually made it to the intermediate are expected to be fluent, and if they are unable to do so, even with them reaching a high level they feel demotivated and stop learning. While some has questionable reasons IMO like it's a cool factor or their crush speaks that language. To put it simple Language learning is a life long journey. Grammar is good but if you had a hard time mastering it don't let it bother you, there's always a time you'll make mistakes.

@@petrichorrs i just feel bad, i wanted an actual proof that i can say "hey I'm good in this language" but at the same tine the thought that you're spending money just to see how good you are in something kinda bugs me. The words of other people kinda bugs me as well saying things like "you should focus first on Japanese" like should become N1 first before studying German?

A friend of mine lives in Denmark and is learning Danish. He says you can't learn a language if you don't make mistakes. So I am not afraid of mistakes I'm afraid of the confusing rules several languages have. Spanish has the subjuntivo there I quit, French has got the irregular verbs I simply don't remeber and all those extra letters. Chinese , Japanese and Korean are languages I'm also interested to learn but I'm simply not able to memorize the characters. It's hard for me But it's still a goal. Let's go reach our language goals

I’m Vietnamese and I personally think the Vietnamese southern accent is easier for foreigners to pronounce because it’s softer than other accents.
@brianl6128
However, people tend to mix up vowel combinations in the southern dialect. This makes it extremely difficult for beginners to learn how to spell. My mother grew up as Bắc Kỳ 54 in Sài Gòn and recalled that all of the Northern students excelled in spelling more than others. Furthermore, the pronunciation of the “v” sound as “gi” or “d” is just unnecessarily difficult and confusing for foreigners. Same goes for us though, replacing “d” and “gi” and “r” with “z” is also confusing so the best solution is just to omit regional consonant variations and just stick to the standard. As for vowels, it’s best to go with northern. Trust me I grew up in the United States and I did go to lớp Việt Ngữ for some time but I mostly taught myself, and let me tell you I struggled so much with spelling and distinguishing vowel combinations with my mixed northern-southern accent. When I switched to a northern accent everything began making sense. However, once you are proficient enough, it’s easier to adopt any accent you like!

I understand 6 foreign languages : English, German, French, Arabic, Russian, and Mandarin with different levels of abilities. I'm a 50 year-old Indonesian. I understand more or less what you said in French and Mandarin in your other channel that you speak 7 languages. My daughter also learned French and Korean, she's fond of Super Junior k-pop. I speak German pretty well, and been to Munich to learn German. It was long time ago that I reached B2 level, nearly C1. But it seems that my German deteriorates. I also learned French and Russian, but I don't speak those languages very well like my German, and of course, my fluent English. My French and Russian might be A level. I know Arabic a little, maybe even worse than your Vietnamese.. Here we have assimilated Arabic words due to Islamic influence. Now I'm learning Mandarin, and I believe my Mandarin reached A2 or B1 level, because I got Hsk-3 in October 2019. The problem is maintaining the ability. Once you get the B level, you start to be fed up with the language you have learned, unless you have a very high motivation and specific purpose to learn the language. And after that the next question is whether you can maintain the level that has been attained. I reached B2 or even almost C1 in German long time ago, but now it seems that I can only answer relatively correct the B1 level. My German deteriorates. Language is a matter of habits and habitation....

I quit learning Spanish at the moment because to me the Germanic language are much more easier to learn. So I'm more motivated. Spanish, Italian and French are hard for me. I don't know why

Vietnamese grammar and Lexico('s phonetics) have a similarity with Chinese so when you learn it, try to have a connection with Chinese is the better way for you to improve the language. And I am very happy when a fabulous foreigner like you learn about my language and Culture. Thank you a lot.

Que legal ouvir você falando português! Você me inspira muito!

@@mylangs Thanks. Also, Happy Korean / Lunar New Year to everyone. These days people are having a consecutive 7-day national holiday for the lunar new year in Taiwan. So I have more free time during this period. I had already learned and acquired Hangeul in the year 2000 at an academy in Taipei along with my learning of Japanese at the time; it was a peaceful period then as there was no any Korean pop media in my country. The learning of my Korean language had been stopped right after my completing acquiring the Hangeul characters as the learning time was devoted to Japanese. Japanese' influence was a bit higher than Korean at the time in TW. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the current seriousness in Japan, the power of JP seems to have been declined, and it seems now Korean influence in TW is dominated. During the holiday this time, I have tried to grasp some time to learn some Korean phrases as I have already known the Hangeul, and have figured out that the expressions (like casual way, and formal way…etc.) in Korean is very complicated. Although in Japanese there are several expressions including polite, formal, and informal…etc., Korean expressions seem to be even more complicated. In English and Chinese, basically there is simply one expression, but in Korean, there are many expressions depending on the situation and hierarchy you are at. Just right after learning the Korean phrases for a while, I feel that being a Korean (person) is hard considering the architecture of the Korean society where many corresponding expressions are required for the correspondent situation. Unbelievable society of Korea. I just feel that being a Taiwanese or a Chinese (person) is easier; primarily there is just one expression in the Chinese language, you don't have to consider that much. And the Korean language is more difficult than the Chinese language due to the variety of the expressions.

Hi mylangs ! Thank you so much for your great videos actually I really would like to learn Chinese with a native or someone professional but there is no one and it would be hard for me sometimes and the second is I think there is not any good reference for learning this language specially for the ones whom there mother tongue is far from Chinese do you have any suggestions for these two problems of mine? I highly appreciate you if you help me❤️❤️❤️❤️

First of all, it may be better if you've got friends or anyone who can help you with the language you're learning.. but you still can learn it on your own! I'm studying Vietnamese all by myself! Don't lock yourself into it! Idk what's your mother tongue.. but it's totally possible to learn a language which has not much in common with your mother tongue. Search for the books or materials explained in English which are a lot and start learning it slowly. Don't rush yourself!! Wish you the best👍🏻

I just wonder, what does it take to say thay you're actually good with the language? Is exams necessary? I've been learning Japanese since December 2019 and have gotten comfortable in speaking it. Same with German which i studied since July last year. But i don't have any proficiency tests in those 2 languages just some comfort in speaking. Also because of it i don't know when is the time i can learn a new language.

I guess proficiency exams are needed when you need to comprove your language skills, such as for scholarship programas and etc. But besides that if you feel comfortable and can hold a conversation in most topics in that language I guess you can consider yourself fluent.

You don't always need the exams but I believe that proficiency exams can let you exactly know about your current level and can be a proof as well. It's not mandatory at all tho

Portugues is similar to Spanish but i think its harder because more sounds than Spanish example the sounds of vowel in Spanish are 5 but in Portugues are like 7 and the consonant are more

스위치 on and off 처럼 되는 것 같아요.
