Something I just noticed: Whenever the situation was calm, Krell would refer to Rex by his CT number. But at 4:32, when they were under fire, he called him by his name. This means that Krell calling Rex by his CT number wasn’t just him not caring enough about clones to use their names, but him actively CHOOSING to be a dick.

It’s not the duress, but that fact that Rex had previously gained some of Krell’s respect. He doesn’t see them as people or individuals, so he refers to them by serial number. When Rex establishes himself as a “true captain” in Krell’s eyes, he permits him some recognition of self.

I honestly believe that Palpatine put all this in motion just to see if the clones were capable of killing jedi... like a test. Krell imo seemed like a strong but reckless general/jedi. I bet he approached Palpatine and offered his services for the sith as long as he was spared fir order 66. I believe that's where his hatred of clones came from and why he was used as a sort of test to see the abilities of the clones because clones although loyal will fight for whats right even if that means fighting rogue jedi.

Pong Krell does imply that he will be Dooku's new apprentice. To my knowledge, it's never implied that Krell knew about Sideous. If Krell knew about Sideous, he would have probably attempted to replace Dooku, or at least think he could. Pong would be acting out of fear, and/or ignorance, because he would have to know that the Sith only operate in pairs, and that he would have to replace Dooku, or be disposable like Ventress.
@danieldominguez5863
2 жыл бұрын
@@right_hand_power7960 I remember in this episode he said something along the lines that his new master would train him and spare him and that he essentially saw the fall of the Jedi as well as other things. So it makes me believe that he also saw Palpatine as emperor, Dookus fall and Anakins betrayel and "Death" and approached him. Palps had to keep his existences private so I could see him killing two birds w/ one stone by basically sending Krell to his Doom while also testing the clones capabilities. Edit: Also I don't think he'd refer to Dooku as his "new master" but instead just say Dooku's name since everybody already knows him. Krell was still trying to remain secretive w/ that bit of information so it gives me the impression that he knew more than he was letting on

The Holdo subplot of The Last Jedi was just for feminism. Have one of the male characters (Poe) jump to assumptions, start a coup against Holdo, and get stopped by another woman, Leia, who specifically was injured, and recuperating. Then, Holdo looks down at Poe, who is unconscious, rubs his left face cheek, smiles, and says, 'I like him." If the goal was to show Poe being reckless, and not listening to female superiority, Disney made sure to hammer that home, with Leia slapping Poe earlier in the film, and Poe man-splaining in front of a bunch of women. The problem is, the audience is not given reason to believe Poe was being brash. Holdo didn't reveal she had a backup plan, and there was no reason to keep it secret. Holdo keeping it a secret would have made sense, if the film had shown her discreetly to Leia, for example, expressing her fears that there are spies among them. This would at least make sense. In addition, if there were spies on-board, and the film showed that, it would solidify even more, the idea of keeping the backup plan a secret.

I served with him. I used to hate him until I served with Cammander Fox and got forsaken by my own Empire. Now I miss the Old Republic and General Krell. Somedays it's so overwhelming I'm one bad day from ending up like him.

He definitely deserves a full story about himself, with his unique worldview and unique fighting technique. Moreover, he is also smarter than 99% of the Jedi, since he used strategy, and not, like everyone else, attacked the enemy with sticks.

I like how he states that "some clones are defectove" that is dope foreshadowing. Though Krell is an idiot he is observant. Even though he never once questioned how he was treating the clones had something to do with it. He didnt think they were human enough to make their own decisions and have their own thoughts. And then how Krell says "its treason then" like how Palpatine will later say the exact same thing to the Jedi. Only difference is Krell fails and Palpatine doesnt. Krell was a jerk but he aslo was literally the only one besides Yoda who sensed Order 66, i know thats due to him being enticed by the dark side but he caught onto things others didnt even though he couldnt catch on to the trap set right under his nose. He was having too much fun killing clones that he was blinded and lured into his own demise. He couldve made it out had he stopped and turned to escape rather than chase the rest down. Then tellling the clones ALL of his plans he was not the brightest

Dope how u can see the dark side start to form in krell when u get a close up of his eyes. He literally went insane and betrayed everything he once believed in for the dark side. And sacrificed whole squadrons in the process. Pong Krell.

I watched this episode by episode as a kid and I think the scene at 3:18 as actually a really great scene. It was really satisfying getting some validation from a guy who up until that point treated everyone below him as disposable. Even the clones we had grown to love and care about. While also making me almost like him, making me think he wasnt a total asshole. These scenes were important to keep the audience on their toes and keep them guessing as to just whether Krell is a hero or a villian. This kind of attention to detail is what makes good writing good.

It’s just that this moment plays a role here. Krell the strategist, the clones, in fact, sent to the vanguard, in the territory where the enemy clearly dominates, surrendered their vanguard positions and gave away the location of the main forces, forcing Krell to throw soldiers into battle on the march, Krell still did not take note of Rex’s words, he didn’t care at him and his words, he tried to complete the task, knowing that the operation had long been predetermined by defeat due to the fact that he had leaked all the data about the operation.

He is one of the commanders of the entire invasion operation on Umbara, his rank and knowledge are too great to fall into the hands of possible traitorous clones, so it was self-defense, he fought off potential traitors.

The first time I see this guy I thought okay he's cool and it's fighting skills is impressive with two double lightsabers. But my thing is this why is he bad talk all of the clones and being a b**** and bad talk to Rex like that like they're not droids there men they're your soldiers you have to respect them. Just like all the Jedis respected their clone troopers.
