When I started out I had a horse somewhat like what you just showed. Not having ever trimmed a flat footed quarter horse, once I was able to clean the hoof wall up and get the shape I needed I hit live sole really quick with my knife which caused the horse to be really tender for a week or so. Definitely a lesson I will never forget.

It must be satisfying to know your skill is helping an animal. What a difference from start to finish. I would be curious to know how changing the hoof angle affects the horse's stance, the forces that travel up the leg(s) to the joints...shoulder or hips. Is there an adjustment period for the horse? I subscribed as I am so curious about your work.🤗
