It is sad how this government uses people as a means to an end but not as an end in themselves

From the look of things, the people in Nansana don’t look like they are poor since they could find food and support their families. These are people that were renting others had built their own houses and some had businesses so in that case I will rule out the use of “Poor” in this discussion. Otherwise, am glad that u are sharing ideas with the fellow youth

The thinking of Ian is delusional, 39:00, the government not doing right doesn't mean that it should not do right.

I agree with Denise about coming up with structures to enable the affected persons as well as empower these same affected persons

I just hate that some youths think like this! Why cannot they start by evicting Stabex! This is incredibly insensible thinking. Like homaigodi The majority are poor but the highest piece of wetlands is not occupied by them. Ian, you cannot be a climate advocate without remembering the rest of the SDGs like zero hunger, zero thirst, and elimination of poverty. Ian these things are intertwined

In the drive to address climate change as per the SDG 13, we have to look at how we can preserve what we have first while on already encroached on wetlands, we need to balance the investment interests and profitability of an entity with the well being of the natives plus the community in comparison to environment protection. The demolition of houses in the nansana community does not give us a satisfaction towards SDG 10. Re-allocation for our people would have taken priority If it’s about reclaiming wetlands, are they going to clear the debris for proper disposal or we are going to to stop at demolition of these houses. The issue of achieving SDGs should be addressed by reviewing work plans on how we can achieve them progressively and compare how each will affect the other. More can be picked from the action that was taken by the government however managing situations like these to ensure a win-win situation can be the best take.
