You’re right, she’s all over the place yet there’s a common thread through the majority of her music. I recently saw her performance of “Eat” for the Grammys...and damn, it was something I didn’t expect even from her. I can’t say I listen to her music often, but I still love and respect her as an artist.

Jen G you know who I am, we like the same music you punked me out on a Jinjer video and I ran a way. Did you know 90 percent of my comments get deleted by youtube. They think you can't think for yourself and need them to protect you. Do you know what that means? You live in a bubble constantly being protected. This the world you want to live in? Free thinker that you are? Lol

Really enjoying these Poppy reactions. There is so much to delve into with Poppy, all the suggestions so far are good ones but it may be worth delving deep into her back catalogue with some of her earlier stuff. I don't think you will like the earlier songs as such but you will certainly find them interesting to see how much she has evolved in such a short time. Her "bubblegum" pop songs like Lowlife, Money and Bleach Blonde Baby sound totally different but they are still very clever and drip with humour, social commentary and satire.

From early songs, "Money" and "Guns & Gold" are some of my favorites. First one speaks about vanity and another bout greed for power.

@@gokhankayabasl3468 ig you could say it's more consistently heavy then, but it's just a more high frequency and skittish production which I could understand why that makes it sound hella more chaotic than BYT! Maybe I just think BYT is heavier bc it has that og contrast between the "pretty" sounding Poppy and the nonsense heavy stuff, that was what made her sound, after all :)

Dude I love your reaction videos, got yourself a subscriber here! Poppy definitely has a unique twist to all of her art. She started from "Illuminati confirmed" - kind of short youtube videos, bubblegum aesthetic overlaping with ominous meanings. There are quite a few videos of her "predicting the pandemic" few years before it started - instructing on how to wear a medical mask, talking about shit governments ain't telling us, "I don't think they'll let me say it but... What rimes with breath? *smiles ominously*". 🙂

Titanic Sinclair is the opposite side of good producers should be, he copying himself and even the girl from his original project (Mars Argo), of course you can see he likes to copy and you can see nothing original on his projects and artistic ideas. Sadly that splashed out over this girl ambition to be famous involving all of them in pathetic scandals. She made it to the Grammy awards and such, but those events are not parameters for me to rate an artist. I hope she can do it well now without that toxic producer behind, but with her own sound and without copying any subject or artistic ideas from others. Peace 🤘

Not that Titanic didn't take things from his project with Mars Argo and use them for early Poppy stuff, but he sure as hell never wrote a metal song for Mars Argo. Both were in very toxic relationships with him. Poppy was simply his new victim, and most of the songs on this album are thought to be her writing about him and his corrupt ways which makes it even fucking cooler imo. And yeah Poppy is not wholly unique but, nothing is, and again she's sure as hell leagues ahead in "uniqueness" from Mars. It is simply very unfortunate that both of these talented women were manipulated by such a scumbag.

I would have to say this sounds very Blue Stahli/Celldweller esque. With a touch of early Nine Inch Nails. It wasn't terrible. But there is plenty room for improvement.
