I always loved watching your crew mine Porcupine. Was always the most interesting, with the deep glory hole and the unique wash plant rocking those big boulders.

Great video Fred, being a equipment guy myself I saw the loader coming down the hill with tailings, than watched him pass by the Gold Rich dirt you were digging and head up the hill empty! Haha , my first thought as an operator was " why is he heading back up top empty?" But I do know you show common sense on the show so I'm sure there is a reason lol. Good Luck in your quest for the Gold Pocket, and don't let the fame change you, we watch for the reality aspect!

I don't understand how the Porcupine Creek laid down all that smoothed stone and made the deposits so deep. Obviously it took millions of years to lay down and smooth some 50 feet of what amounts to old river channel. But how did the river do it? It seems anywhere you dig down and get to old river bed you can get gold!

With all that equipment and fuel Fred Burned up, he didn't make much money, but he got to gold mine. Just getting to do it is the real deal. Just merely setting up a large or small operation and dig up dirt while running it thru your sluiceplant is the excitement of gold mining. You just have to know when to quit. If you find you're losing money after a week of running pay, STOP. Too many people don't know when to quit. They keep going after losing money while running pay.

fred and his son had that nasty damn curse put on them from 2 very powerful shawmen after they stole the claim, I guess the sickness and the health prob-'s to keep coming are what they get ..! i'm pretty sure the first to go will be his wife they said. I'm pretty sure that the Indian curse will take Fred 3rd.and the drums were herd for over a hundred miles the night the elders left for the last meting. John s. was the only way the curse could have been broken. ask any of them to talk about it and everything goes silent. It's really sad in a way knowing that all fred had to do was give the land back. the chief and the 2 medicine men had to even stop the drums one night early after the hyatawn metting because he said he needed more proof that the whole act as was told by the spirits that the land was stole by fred from greed. O it wasn't a pretty night but when the 50 foot flames were put out like a bucket of water was just dumped on that great fire the chiefs new as they all closed eyes and said fred will go blind at 72 full moons after his wife almost went mad because the very day of the distrust and mark on that horrible day would start the down ward fall and darkness of death would be all around them from the flood on.------------I'll tell you this, the one thing worse than death said this young native child is that fred has night mares about the way it all started IEthe flood hence the heart prob's that fred will have to endure while this cycle can not be stopped after the last drum beat and the child cried.

Wayne Kaczmarek they never stole any claim. Todd defaulted on lease payments. End of story. You can't steal something from someone if it isn't theirs.

I'd bet Fred broke even on this minesite. Fred would pop up again somewhere if he was still mining, and Porcupine Creek was one of those limited claims up on a hill. Fred sucked the nut out of his "gloryhole", and then decided to mine what he thought was a paystreak. I do believe it caught up to Fred and he broke even or took a little loss. Nonetheless, he got to gold mine. That's what it's about at the end, getting to gold mine and find gold. It's about making and setting up equipment, and saying "hot damn, I MADE that trommel and made my wash[plant and I caught gold". You gotta break even though. That show "Yukon Gold", Karl's daddy built him this big fucking trommel with bearings and all sorts of shit. Wrong. Put some tires on it for the barrel to rotate on, put one tire at the bottom turned sideways so the trommel doesn't spin off the base. NOOOOO, Marty wanted to make some glamourous piece of shit that kept fucking up. Make it simple stupid. Simple can be fixed. When you order a bearing and metal wheel special order from New York, you'll be waiting for 7-10 days for another one. Use a fucking truck tire and you can slap another rim, tire, or whatever right away. The miners who keep it simple profit.
