Here is an extensive tutorial on removing your front struts and replacing the strut top mounts on a Porsche 987.1 and 987.2 Cayman. I had some squeaks/creeks coming from the front suspension and while replacing the top mounts didn't fix all of the squeaking, they definitely needed to be replaced. Torque Specs as follows:
Caliper bolts - 63 ft/lbs
Coffin Arm to subframe bolts - 77 ft/lbs
Strut mount bolt to strut/shock - 59 ft/lbs
Strut top mounts to strut towers - 20 ft/lbs
Sway Bar end link to sway bar - 34 ft/lbs
Sway bar end link to steering knuckle (pinch bolt) - 63 ft/lbs
Though not 100% necessary, it is probably easier and safer to use a proper spring compressor.
