A way to eliminate a need to run a bunch of extension cords all the way out to your generator during a power failure. As stated in the video, you must have a ground rod connected to the ground screw on the generator. This unit can also be permanently mounted inside the house on a wall and hardwired to a weather proof connector on the outside of the house. Then you just run your cord between the generator and the outside connector.
The panel is wired like a standard sub-panel in that the neutral is unbonded. Outlet grounds are mechanically bonded to the ground wire in the cord: outlet frame (ground) to outlet box to sub-panel box to ground wire (megger tested).
I charged $320.00 for all materials and assembly. Cord is 50 foot 10/4 SJOOW. Panel and breakers are Square-D QO.
