Thanks Shawn! Still haven't found the best setup for my kayak, yoke presses on the back of my neck and on the long portages is a killer! Keep up the great videos!

Great video Shawn. I've been using a tump line for the past two years and love this system. Some with argue it is more dangerous and perhaps it is, but I like that I can tump the canoe until my neck gets tired I'll slide the tump back and just carry it with my shoulders.

I've been toying with that as well. I added a tumpline to my canoe pack this year, and I've been meaning to ask my chiropractor what he thinks about it on a canoe. He's a canoeist and outdoorsman as well, so his response should be interesting.

Let me know! I'm guessing he would advise against it. It is hard at first until you build strength in your neck muscles because there tends to be more twisting than on a pack.

While my canoe is different from yours I believe the principles you explained will still work Thanks Brian 76

Thanks Brian. For perspective, my other canoe is a 65 lb wood Prospector and I find the same principles apply.

Great video Shawn, when doing a multi day trip with two people do you prefer each taking a smaller canoe or a larger canoe like a prospector. Thanks a lot your videos help a lot

Personally, I MUCH prefer separate vessels, as long as both paddlers are capable of paddling and portaging them. That's why my wife and I also kayak - we would fight if we were in the same canoe. Lol. I find it easier to talk, fish, photograph and get distracted by scenery if I'm alone.

I tried it all till finally I realized... Don't get a one person boat that takes two people to carry.
