Clever "Mandrel" A LOT easier than the bar stock machined to slip fit & slot for a cutting tool I did....and they prolly end up with the same result :)

👍👍 been debating to cut the piston/cylinder skirt for a while. Food for thought…at bdc, the piston is no longer pushing anything up the transfer. My thought is to measure the square surface of the transfer/s and be sure there is always at least that much during the downstroke. Granted, mixture is coming from everywhere in the crankcase so concentration on just the cylinder wall will still be over doing it…even using that “formula”. I would imagine folks eventually figured out, taking it to the base just eliminates additional measuring and gets the job done.

👍🏻 buddy!!!! My G372 is built very similar to yours. The FT cylinders are petty nice to work with. I think you'll have a very strong runner there 💪🏻and can't wait to try it out. Sticky sandpaper is very handy to have around.

Yeah, it didn't give a nice flat squish all the way to the edge, but it did cut through all the plating and made it much easier for me to cut with the mandrel.

I bought a 2 inch sanding pad for a drill then ground it down to 48mm to sand the squish in a couple of 48mm saws. 2 inch is very close to 50mm so it would work for a 372 as is. It was 10 bucks and came with a bunch of disk.

If the piston goes out of round because you hacked off half the skirt HAHAHAHAHHAAA (this channel is fun) Oh wait, it's under the pin so it will RIP THE FREAKING PIN OUT split down the lower middle and remain at the top of the cylinder -"Chrome Dome Blown" will be it's new name. LOL Loses the whack off but thinks it won anyway "chrome dome blown" ahahahahahaha Good luck
