Portland, Oregon arial views from the sky
Sauvie Island, home to some local farms where you can pick your own fruits, veggies, and enjoy hayrides.
St Johns Bridge, the northern link connecting NE and NW Portland. Cathedral Park on the NE side offers stunning views from the base of the bridge as it spans the Willamette River.
Lloyd Center was once a really popular mall, particularly the ice skating rink. It's now just an empty shell, like many of the malls in America.
Portland's larger colleges includes UoP, PSU, Reed College (not labeled), Lewis and Clark (not labeled), and PCC.
If you were a Portlander in the 1990's, you might recall the Memorial Coliseum hosting Blazers games with legends like Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Buck Williams, Jerome Kersey, Kevin Duckworth, and Cliff Robinson. The Winterhawks still play there.
Oaks Amusement Park, has become pricier. I suspect it survives on nostalgia.
Portland's west and east sides tell different stories geographically, with the east following a standard grid while the west is a tapestry of hills and ravines. The once-forested areas are being developed more and more.
Like San Francisco, Portland has faced media backlash lately, but there was a time not long ago when it was the "cool" place to be. I suspect it will overcome its challenges.
