Heather Watts was a phenomenon! I remember taking class with her in 1978. She would practice in the center, rising onto pointe in high extension a la second, then rotate slowly on pointe to arabesque totally unsupported, totally balanced. It was amazing to watch and I have never seen anyone else do it.

Finally, someone posted something for Heather Watts, my favorite NYCB dancer for years, and a total creature of the theater. She always looks about 6 feet tall in her photos, but then Baryshnikov partnered her, so she's probably really about 5 feet. I loved her in all the Black and White ballets, but she's equally great in Jewels and Nutcracker. They won't replace her. She's still young. Wonder what she's doing?
