As a relative beginner it is good to find a true artist like yourself giving an honest independent review of water soluble oils that many artists dismiss just because they are different. If these were available back in the day of the masters - of course they would use them.

Yupari, this is a great tutorial and demonstration with water soluble oil paints. Thanks so much for the time, effort and a great advice. Also very inspiring. I have tried in the past with Winsor and Newton paints and it was good. I noticed the paint much dense so I needed to use more water. Since I was already using the regular oil paints I stopped using the water soluble. Since I didn’t practice anymore I never varnished the painting for fear of damaging the water soluble paint. I believe over the years, the paints got better. So, with this tutorial I am encouraged to go back and begin using the water soluble oils, but I need to continue with the regular oils too. Just awesome as usual. Congratulations! Blessings and take care.

Another great painting demonstration, Yupari. I’ve been intrigued with the benefits of water mixable oils and have so far found the Cobra brand to work well. I got curious about what makes them water mixable and learned that the additive Cobra uses in the linseed oil of their paint is a soy-based oil that contains lecithin which acts as a natural emulsifier. I’m not a chemist either, but maybe this is why the paint handles better than some other water mixable paints.

Cave paintings were mostly casein (milk) or blood as binders if not just straight pigment buddy. Oil painting didnt take off until the 1400s, though the oldest oil painting found dates to the 7th century.

I am interested in learning from you and after talking with you today and watching this video I tried to get the cobra paint via your link. Amazon have sold out and don't know when they will get them back in. I will try other avenues but it will be a shame if you don't get the financial recognition when I am only buying them based on what you have said and demonstrated.

It is relaxing for me to watch others create not just painting however art in general. You are my recent discovery I can confidently say that you are always a painting away from buying a mansion . The background of your paintings does not compliment the detail of your painting. The detail of your paintings are obviously mechanically accurate. It lends itself to many classical teachings. It will support you only as a survival skill as it did support the old masters who were replaced by photography The mansion you often speak about in abstract but yet to realise because of the yawn in your painting. The flower or teddy bear in your imagination but lacking in your painting however speaks to you of a person or subject of your painting The smile and not the yawn about your realism This is what sets many of us apart from the photographer or growing threat from artificial intelligence My background is usually a poetic interpretation of my subject matter which speaks volume about art rather than reproduction. Please do not be offended because i know you can definitely afford a mansion Sincerely ❤❤❤❤from Ejike
