Funny thing is, the bottom of the ramp to the beach you came down is Castle Erin point, if you had gone 30 secs to your left you would have been allowed on the beach which is called the west strand also there is an even larger beach called the East Strand which you can walk to the amazing white rocks. Portrush is a wonderful place to live and I feel very fortunate every day no matter what the weather. Thanks for visiting.

Bob our council does try to cater for motorhomes. During the summer months they open a temporary aire in a field between Portrush and Portstewart. Not sure if you came into Portstewart but if not for next time. You can drive onto the beach which is run by National Trust - some Game of Thrones filming was done there.

Hello people. Nice to see you made it to Portrush. I'm sure you both know by now that there are two(2) main beaches., east and west strand. You are a stone's throw from my late father's home. My sister has two(2) store in the main street. You can always find motorhomes and campervan down at the front. Portstewart a few mile further round you can drive onto the beach there. Views of Donegal. Ballycastle to Larne coastal route you can often see Scotland. Enjoy the travel folks and stay safe.

There you said this is the way to the beach, that takes you to the town and the smaller beach, a much larger beach with sand dunes is the other way but you can visit both beaches from the town centre.

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Councillors should hang their heads in shame for not allowing a VID (very important dog) like Poppy on the beach at Portrush ! 🙂...Even on a summers day there's always a strong breeze in "The Port" as it's locally known. Hope all three of you are enjoying your Northern Ireland tour, nice to have you's here. 👍

They taking down the big wheel, that's what the crane is doing. One of my favourite views is walking down the hill behind the helter-skelter. Was looking out incase I seen my mum and step dad, they live there, I'm from Northern Ireland we heading up at end of October, Erin point is at the end of the hill coming down from helter-skelter there is a set of steps on to the beach to left hand side.

Stena have shamefully decided dogs are not allowed to leave the car during sailing from Scotland from Nov 1 st. Dreadful decision as the poor animals will he left in a car or van especially if weather rough and there can be rolling in the car deck. . P&o also have no dog lounge and animals must be left in vehicles. Otherwise N I very dog friendly if you ever manage to get here.
