Looks like y'all had a great trip! At 8:36 - What's keeping the rear tire off the ground? Are you using a trail/crutch stand?

Great to see you doing so well with the bike 👍. I'm getting mine end of January, so really looking forward to that. What tyres are you using now, from the quick glimpse I had, they look like K60s? What do you think of them?

Hi Gary, I’m using Mitas Enduro’s EO7 front and rear. They are very durable and stable on tarmac esp wet, but also good off road on gravel, loose ground, rocks, grassy trails and the like. They will let you down a bit when it gets very muddy or sandy though. But I like them as an adventure tyre where on a trip of say 1-2 thousand miles you may be doing 3-4 hundred off road. It feels like a good balance. There are times I would like more grip off road but Ill trade that for their higher mileage and wet performance on tarmac later.

Thanks for your detailed reply. I'll have a look at those tyres. It's all a compromise innit, just need to find the right one for you. I assume you you are still happy with the bike?

@@garyevans5335 Yes, very happy. If you get the bike properly set up it’s pretty hard to beat. The early ones had fuelling issues but from 2019 with a good fuel map done it’s pretty sorted. As you may know I’ve been around South America, Europe and plenty of off road with the PR7 and I have no plans to change it. Planning the TAT in US this year. 3rd set of Mtias 👍

@@FitBones Very reassuring 👍. I have been offered the power up kit by the dealer, but I think I'd rather just leave it as standard and see how I get on with it. Thanks again and good luck with your future travels 🤞👍

@@FitBones Hi We are doing the Portuguese TET in mid June. I know it's a late but do you foresee many problems with the heat. I am taking the PR7. Any advice on things to look at on bike setup. Many thanks

@@tombentley8440 Hi Tom, June may be difficult as some of the forest routes may be closed and there is a chance you could be fined if trying to cross these. It will be very hot and there are chances of fires hence the closures. It would be better to go in May, still hot though. If your riding down through Spain I would take another set of very light weight gear, I used enduro pants and a very thin jacket which was all vents. Bike wise, You'll be out in sections with no nearby road so have some tools and a pump, spare tube and lots of water. (I always use heavy duty inner tubes and fill them with a version of slime - never had a puncture in 1000's of miles) Clean your air filter after your done and before riding home. If you haven't done it yet, change the clutch slave to an 'oberon' as you will use the clutch a lot. Have fun, its a great place for off road and the PR7 is right at home.
