Hey man, great vid as always! Question for ya, just got my first pedal kayak, I’m mainly a river trout and pond bass angler but I really want to start with some kokenee… but man where do I start? Would you recommend trolling or jigging for em? (For reference I’ll be fishing arrowrock in Boise area). Man any help would be appreciated!!!

@@spiltmilt right now I just have a deeper pro (a casting sonar). Would I need to upgrade to some better electronics? And you recommend snap weights?

Lower basin by the red roofs is typically good this time of year. I also would check up around Wapato Point

Awesome job on the Kokanee! I might have to make a 5-hour trip to Chelan now. When are you doing your next half marathon? My wife is really into that long distance run, she might want to join the fun

That's pretty funny. I had a similar thing happen. My one rod got smashed the whole time while the other got skunked out. Both trips. Almost same setups. Same lure type and color. I narrowef it down to maybe the dodger color and possibly leader line from my rod to my dodger. Running the exact same setup next time around to have a good system to strategize issues.

When you say post full moon days, how many days after the full moon will they act this way? And does it start with the very first day after a full moon on the calendar?
@spiltmilt
5 ай бұрын
A lot of factors here. Moon rise and moon set times matter. Bright 90%+ moons that rise early in the night are bad. Late rising bright moons have less of an effect

Depends on moon rise and moon set times more than anything.

I bought some shrimp looking lures with spinner blades on Amazon, they have been great for trout this spring. It looks like Paulina peak sells the same thing, have you used those with any luck for kokes before?

In your other vids, you've shared that you prefer to change some of your hooks on your terminal tackle. I noticed on the PP rigs you referenced, they contain some colored, coated hooks. I'm curious if you retain these hooks as manufactured, or, do you switch them out for some of your favs?

I worry about it for albacore and walleye more than I do Kokanee. I know there are several Kokanee lakes with mercury but they don’t seem to sequester a lot in their tissues
