Hi Sharmon, I can totally understand that you started to cry. Because the devastation is awful. Not only all the nature that got destroyed, but especially all the people that lost their lives, and the people that lost their livelihood and their houses. This hurricane was so, so bad. But despite of that all, people and nature will recover. We are resilient. And I'm so glad that you're helping local businesses to get back on track! 💙 The shells you've found are gorgeous! Especially those beautiful FFC's with all their patterns. Amazing that not one of them is the same. And that Rose Murex. WOW!😍 But all those bugs...... girl, it would have been jumping and screaming with all those little critters flying around my legs and body. 😱 I really hope that you are feeling ok. Please let us know if we can help. Wishing you a wonderful week, filled with love and joy. Big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤️, Ilona

I will tell you 100% the truth - those bugs were the most miserable thing I think I've ever encountered. I was not happy, at all, and literally might have left if there was an option to leave. I was unhappy, sad and dealing with horrible biting bugs. However, I am not a quitter so I obviously stayed and kept looking for shells and the wind eventually picked up a little so the bugs abated. I was going to tour again tomorrow but Ali said there were bugs and I immediately declined - LOL! I am going to the beach again but I am feeling rather anxious about Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel - two of my most favorite island beaches. I hope to be able to at least see them soon, but I also hope it doesn't destroy me. I have spent countless hours enjoying the sand and views of those island. I'm hoping it won't be all that bad, but it will be what it will be ❤️❤️❤️ I hope your health is good and everything is great in your part of the world!

Hello my dear friend, just made my day when you posted this. So happy to see you getting back your normal. When I get there I plan on a couple of shelling tours. If I were only younger I'd be there physically helping where ever I was needed. I keep you all in my prayers.

My friend Sharmon, I'm so grateful that you and yours are physically ok! You are incredibly kind for paying a gift forward to Allie and Carlos, she has a great "Oh, WOW" face! The piles and piles of shells are just CRAZY!!! And WHY pen shells? So weird. Well bless your heart for "doing something normal", it's an excellent way to overcome! As always, thank you so much for my beach time, I love you and again, I'm SO glad you're ok! With love, hugs, yummy joo joo, and anything else I can send, from Minnesota! ❤ 🐚

Love your first 2 shells. The first bigger conch, your 3rd find, I love. The purple live apple murex was beautiful. I do like the purple red banded shells. Love the hinged Sunray Venus clam. That "super orange fighting Conch was gorgeous. The following small Florida cone was so cute. The 3 fighting conchs in your hand and the following lace murex are great. Then the mellow orange fighting Conch was beautiful. That brown orange fighting Conch up where you got back into the pin shells was a favorite of mine . That pear welk you first thought was a lightning welk is beautiful. I'm not as big of a fan of pears. It was right before beach time. I only like the dark brown alphabet cones. The Gaudi you found when washing the conch is lovely. The zig zagy fighting conch is gorgeous. The Nutmegs on this trip are awesome. The tiny attached cross bar Venus clam was precious. It was awesome you did that for Ali and Carlos. It's their livelihood. The couple coming on the tour was great for them. Kice is wonderful.

You def made me cry a bit during this video. I feel so horrible about the devastation from Ian, but as I write this now, having 2 hurricanes in 2 weeks and more devastation, I have been watching videos surveying the area and I’m just sad and cry. Like Fort Myers beach is to you, Clearwater is to me as I’ve been going to Florida sometimes several times a year for 27 years and I am looking at moving there from NY in the not so distant future. It just breaks my heart 😢. Although if I had been there with you at this video I can def tell you that I would be like that woman on the boat with the multiple shell bags!

I feel bad for the people who have lived by the coast for decades with zero issues. The next thing you know their home is gone. I know not everyone can afford beach front property, but it's so sad to have your community ripped apart. I can say that things do get rebuilt. Businesses reopen. It will never be the same, but it will come back. ❤️

I happened across your video and first for me you were picking shells?!. Even identifying each , I now know some shell names. I definitely love the picking anytime I am by the shore even love my rocks. Thank you, I suppose, it brought me a peace that I needed at a perfect time. Saw the large conch video find, congratulations, then your meditative video that put me to sleep. Our mother nature has a plan all her own we are just visitors here it is best that we respect love and honor her even in the midst of great storms. Yes , moving along, when we marvel in her smallest of blessings.

Beautiful shells! Prayers to everyone in your area. I have only shelled in the Destin area, if you can call it that! Usually not much to find, except the year we went after hurricane Ivan. As you said, we felt sort of guilty going on vacation there, but the locals told us they were glad people were coming down, to support the economy. I found a large amount of the olives that year, almost like someone just dumped them in a pile on the beach! I hope to visit your area some day soon and will definitely look up the charter business you featured. Thank you for all of the wonderful videos!

Very happy to see another shelling video after all the devastation from Hurricane Ian. I’ve watched the last couple videos showing all the damage from it and it’s just heartbreaking! Glad you’re getting back out there and supporting local businesses and keeping them going. My son and I did a shelling tour back at the end of June with Treasure Seekers Shell Tours, and Captain Matt and Shell Guide Shirlee took us to Dickman’s for a bit and then we hopped over to Kice and it was just beautiful! I was able to find some nice bucket list shells, but there weren’t near as many shells as in this video…so many beautiful ones to pick up. And I agree…there’s just something about those FL Fighting Conchs that you just can’t pass up and they are so beautiful! I hope to be able to get back to SWFL one day soon and go out again with Treasure Seekers…they are amazing!

Typically there are more shells in the winter than there is in the summer so perhaps you toured more in the summer months? To be fair, shelling after a hurricane is pretty much always going to kick up shells. And since Ian was such a jerk the shells were there for quite a while.

Hello, I didn’t think I’d see a showing video until the new year. So thank you so much for going out and bringing us along. When I visited Florida 30 years ago the beaches of Sanibel had shells a foot thick. So if you took away some of the destruction all of the destruction That’s what Sanibel looked like 30 years ago. I agree with you wholeheartedly on helping the local businesses stay afloat. I haven’t been to a food store in almost a year. I have badly damage lungs, and the doctor said if you caught Covid you’re gonna die . So with that knowledge I have tipped the people that I’ve done my grocery shop shopping very well over the last two years. When we were there 30 years ago they didn’t have shelling tours, they thought it was kind of silly. I’m glad to hear things are trying to get back to normal. I know how badly you guys were hit by that hurricane. It’s almost 10 years to the day that hurricane Sandy destroyed the beach in New Jersey. The only place that didn’t have trouble with Wildwood because their beaches are close to a quarter mile deep. So on the news every day they talk about hurricane Sandy 10 years ago . I’m sorry I started ranting. Again thank you for taking us with you when you went shelling. Kathy

I remember hurricane Sandy well since I lived in NJ at the time. We didn't have power for a week! I am glad you're being cautious with your health and especially glad you can still sort of come to the beach with me. As soon as it's safe to go to Sanibel I will!

Great to see you out there again. It looks pretty wrecked but I guess the sea will clean up some of those things. I can’t help to wonder what would be on those beaches after the storm. I was in Myrtle Beach the weekend before and the weather was great, no shells. You really got a nice load.

Thank you for this tour of shelling on Kice Island. And, thank you for your generous spirit and reminder of those who are struggling to survive after natural disasters. I wouldn't have thought about those in small businesses down there. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I appreciate you.

So glad to see you back shelling. Lovely shells. I live in Western North Carolina and I will agree with you about the no see ums. I had tried to have a container garden on my balcony and instead of veggies I got a terrible crop of no see ums and still have them inside. They are a scourge from hell i think.

This video gives me all the wonderful memories of my childhood (I am 55 now). I am a native Floridian, but moved to NC one year ago. My parents took me and my 3 sisters to Sanibel Island all the time when we were growing up. It was our favorite place to visit and we could go often enough because we lived in So. Florida. I must admit though, I have not ever heard of Kice Island. It is so devastating to see the damage from the hurricane, but it's wonderful to see that folks are out, trying to rebuild. I look forward to a day when we can return to the area to go shelling again.

It’s ok to cry you are going through a lot and have been through a lot. I have said it to you before, I understand l am from Houston. You need breaks. And this was a good one. And isn’t it funny how the lord works. With his small yet large in what they mean, signs. Hang in there and it is wonderful that you are sharing and spending the word about what happened down there sometimes it is forgotten . And yes life goes on. God bleed you and all in your community. Take care 😊😊

I am thankful to see you back doing what you love. I truly feel shelling and walks by the ocean our therapeutic and good for the soul. Everyone has to find their way to cope and move forward. We had our home destroyed by Uri in Feb 2021 and are just finally back home after a 1 1/2 of hotel /Air B&B living. We went to the beach several times during that time and it genuinely helped my family cope with all the stress. Continued prayers for y'all! Thanks for taking us to the beach every week! 😘
