On 28 September in 1971 IRA terrorists, or their associates, hijacked and robbed 4 Royal Mail Post Office vans, travelling in a convoy at Silverbridge, South Armagh, Northern Ireland, at 9am.
6 terrorists with .303 rifles, fired and ordered the drivers out of the vans, stole mail and burnt or tried to destroy the vehicles which were travelling on the Newry to Crossmaglen Road.
