Your looking awesome right now. Be patient with yourself it takes time. I’m in my 7th month post surgery and I’m finally getting some control. So don’t give up to quick. I almost wanted to go back to the bag. I’m so glad I didn’t give in. But I did keep the Depends around for a long time. You are in my prayers.🙏🎄🌹🌹

Please don''t judge your long term outlook based on your current situation. My husband is 7 weeks post reversal and is doing great. His current situation is vastly different from his first few weeks. I know everyone is different, but I hope you have a wonderful outcome. There are some great FB groups with helpful information. Stay positive!!

Does he have a rectum? If you could share those fb groups I would greatly appreciate it

He has just enough for the reconnection - so, basically, no rectum. The FB group I followed is "Reversal - Ileostomy/Colostomy Reversal Discussion And Support". This one was very helpful to see if what he was experiencing was common. There is also a "Living With Low Anterior Resection Syndrome" that many members mention. I haven't joined because luckily he's not suffering from that.

Hi Brittani 👋 so happy to see you home. Just take it day by day you'll be fine, your positive attitude says it all along with your beautiful smile. But we are cancer free and that what matters the most. May God continue to bless you and your family. Talk to you soon. Do you have to do wound care?

Brit. Thank you for sharing. Am so happy for you and truly God has carried you. Have you been in alot of pain and have you experienced alot of diahrreah I am on 2 and a half weeks since my surgery and i do not have a rectum either. It is a blessing that we dont have to wear a bag. So how are you doing? I am praying that our plumbing system will get more under control. If you got pain from going to the bathroom alot what did you use?

I didn't have much pain. Just clustering at night. The first 4 weeks was the hardest. Once you get through that you'll get more control. Irrigation has saved me though and given me back my freedom. I wish you all the luck. God bless. ❤️

I wanted to ask you about your experience after your reversal with no rectum. Did you have alot of diahrreah? When did it start tappering off? Did you have alot of pain from the diahrreah and what did you do for it? Are you using the irrigation because of your colon and no rectum? I also have no rectum but my colon is good and my sphinx muscle is good. This tuesday will be 3 weeks. Do i need to be patient for 3 more weeks

@@shannonzuniga201 I didn't have a ton of diarrhea. It did burn depending on what I ate but the clustering was what was hardest for me and it always came at night time so I couldn't sleep. My muscles are not as strong without a rectum and I irrigate because I don't trust myself and I want to live freely without fear of not being able to eat or go far from a bathroom. I do think the 6 week mark will give you a good idea of how things are going to be for life so be patient. I didn't start irrigation until about 8weeks post op

@@utbrittani85ify thanks for your response. What was the clustering? I really dont want to eat cause i know i will spend 2-4 hours in the bathroom. I hope you are right about the 6 week mark if i can stand it till then with all the diahrreah. I am asking God what i am to learn in this new way of living. I have to remind myself that in Him i live and move and have my being that his grace is sufficient. I know that he is Immanuel that his presence is with me but in the pain it is hard to focus on that

@@shannonzuniga201 clustering is many trips to the bathroom in a short amount of time and not passing much stool. When I don't irrigate that's what happens to me. You definitely have the right outlook on everything and I have no doubt you will get the hang of this. Let some time pass and healing to take place
