Wow, this is like the vanta black version for things with color. I wonder what other substances give the most intsnsive color for their respective colors.

We'll have to get a spectrophotometer and do it properly next time! ...You can afford a couple thousand dollars for a very niche science tool, right?

Has anyone ever tried dying fabric with potassium permanganate? 🤔

Yes and no. Fabric has been soaked in potassium permanganate, but fabric is made of organic molecules, so potassium permanganate just eats it! The potassium permanganate also turns a horrible brown color when it reacts with fabric, so you can't get the nice pretty purple into the fabric, which is very sad.
