Institutional trip to PML
This trip was especially oraganized by Dr.Javeria and Dr. Faiza with joint coordination of QALB for specifically 8th batch of biotech department, allowing only 1 more executive and camera coordinator to accompany in this trip along with Vice President, President and GS (8th semester both)
It was a report assigned to 8th semester students which included a visit to Precision medicine lab which is research laboratory that uses cutting end technology at the intersection of data, biology and research on genomics ,cancer multi-omics and tumor treatment.
At 1.00 pm we arrived at PML (Presicion medicine Lab)
At 1.30,We were welcomed by the team of PML Lab. Welcome remark were given by Dr.Noora
At 1.40 Refreshment was served
Students were divided into groups of 5 -6 and went to different 10 staion.Each station deliberated and illustrated different aspects of research and science.
1.Study about genome!

Mainly focus on non communicable diseases.with the help of smart watches ,data collection became easy.
3.Space biology
In accomplishment with astrology,synthetic and Plant
To see and asses space biohazards on different life forms ,life forms can be astrology themselves , mice.
Also explained briefly about astrobiology,synthetic biology (radiadurence).
4.Data collection and analysis
Quality score
Sequence matching of genomes for finding pathogenic mutations and binaei.
5.Solving problems for health care.Confer about hackathon contest and innovations.
6.Designing of Gene and biological art
Introduced biosensor that is able to detect heavy metal by detecting gfp
Taught about extraction of colors from bacteria ,dyeing fabric from bacteria.
Explained how to store billion of gb data of dna
Its is first converted from Acii to binary to dna languag
7. Tumor cell analysis
Also showed tumor cells being anaylyzed in laboratory
human cell lines oral squamus cell carcenoma (oral cancer genomics )
They illustrated tissue sample extracted from oral cancer patient
Tumor extracted is grown in lab with optimum temperature
8.Biorepository
The facility and instruments require for research anaylsis and storing of specimen
9. Digital histropathology
Digitilization of slides (capturing image of cancer cell)
"A good slide contain both normal and abnormal tissues"
At the end, Dr.Noora and her colleagues shared information about their internship and job programs.This session was concluded with Dr.Ali's remarks
On our way back, we had lunch and also visited University of Peshawer.
Conclusion: It was an insightful trip through which we got knowledge about various field related to biotech and research
