This is absolutely stunning. I think you're barking mad but would love to do what you've done (I think it's amazing!!). I love set design and am demi-obsessed by The Phantom. This is just wonderful. And, as Wayne asks, where did you get the score from? Is it available? I have got various 'karaoke' versions, some of which have great orchestral performances, but none of the incidental music between songs. Really impressed! Well done.

Most of it I had to make myself. Alot of the stuff around the stage is just paper and cardboard (with the designes printed out onto them. But the chandelier itself is a bit more complex. It is basically a plexiglass frame with the lazer engraved plastic around it. Tiny clear beads, paper clips and fake pearls for the globes. Even a bit of Lego in there somewhere,lol.

@bajanwhiteboy From what I understand number 3 is the safety wire. Because computer automation is never 100% and with such a large dangerous object hanging over the orchestra pit and audience... If number 2 for whatever reasons doesn't pull in the chandelier 1 will just drop it straight into the orchestra pit, so number 3 is basically a dead hung line that will never allow the chandelier to drop into a dangerous place. I know the SM who did the original show, I'll ask her.

the stage is a piece of thick plywood to support the weight, with a big hole cut out in the middle of the stage. then a piece of perspex / plexi glass over the hole with the traps cut into it. the top layer is just some shiny black plastic.

thanks, currently too busy to work on anything else at the moment. But I really would like to tackle Wicked at some point, (I love shows with false prosceniums) Have also thought about lighting, going the LED route, but nothing like that is really available here and would be too expensive to bring in.

Dude, if you ever finish the sets for the whole show, please do a video sequence of the sets moving and changing! :) BTW! Why dont you get one of those smoke machines that work under water and put one or two under the stage (obviously let the smoke into the deck by some trap doors and you can get smoke on stage :)
@bajanwhiteboy

the rings of the chandelier actually hang off themselves. If i was to let it fall to the stage it would totally collapse one on top of the other. Th=o give it the crumple look, I had to glue in a piece of plastic that would stop the main middle ring from falling flat, it sort of keeps it up in the air so it just falls to one side

the tiny beads are just your usual little clear glass beads on black sewing threat (with a little glue at each end incase a strand breaks) the main globes, those are cheap fake pearl beads, the gold thing they ar eattached to are bent paperclips sprayed gold, lol, if you bend them a certain way then they have the right shape (remember the tops of paperclips are rounded already) so you just stick it through the hole in the beat and a dollup of hot clue holds them in.

It could be that the #2 ropes are tight and pulling it back towards the stage, or that the chandelier is not balanced. When mine was finished, it would droop to one side, i placed some pennies inside it to balance the weight

@GuyverFan95 sorry but that is insanely silly to say. Do you actually aprreciate this? Cus it's amazing and the chandalier from the LAS VEGAS SPECTACULAR has nothing to do with this. The Las Vegas one isn't the original and is a one-of-a-kind chandalier so I think he did what most productions had. It's amazing.

that part is very complicated because the rings are made of 1/4 thick perspex. I had to make a thin piece of plastic with holes along the edge to string the beads to then glue that onto the rings. you can look at the photos here, it may explain it better flickr.com/photos/27199361@N08/
