Spiral Wedging is the wedging technique preferred by most potters because it is the most efficient means of breaking up thixotropy, removing air, and mixing. Another really great reason to learn spiral wedging is you always end up with a cone shape, the perfect shape for the potters wheel. Spiral wedging is a little tricky to learn, so check out this video for an up close look from two different camera angles at this essential wedging technique.
