You need some EMT scissors. They will cut a penny in half but designed for bandages. They are also safety scissors. You won’t cut a person or a horse. 👍

If you keep a hand firmly on the leg below the hock while you cut the bandage off (definitely get some sharp blunt end scissors, those are trash) it will keep you safer, the kick will push you away. Always either tie or have help for safety. If you just let her kick at you it can develop into a serious issue as she learns you will stop, albeit momentarily. Mares are smart. They have been pretty good natured so far. A good mare is hard to beat.

I use that eye ointment from the vet on my dog. Did not work. He had his eye removed this week. He is completely blind now because he was already blind in the other eye. Vet said he is in good health otherwise. Just ordered a jacket with a halo for him to wear outside so he can walk around. Will use it inside for a bit. He is a rescue dog.

Gavin chucking heavy pieces of wood across the yard makes me laugh because I know I'd never be able to get something that heavy that far. Then again this is a guy who lobs huge cabbages across a field when it's time to harvest so I really shouldn't be surprised. Thank you for not showing us you guys up in the air on the forklift. It's one thing when you've used a forklift all your life and you already have a history with how far you can push it safely. It's a completely different thing for someone else with a different forklift and experience level to try and do something that daunting with a chainsaw in hand. As a mother, I appreciated just seeing how far up it was as opposed to the stress of having to say a prayer everyone would stay safe when it already happened a week ago. 😂God bless you all and keep you safe, always.

You need lots of chain and a snatch block, then anchor the leaning tree to the base of another tree and use the biggest tractor on the farm to pull it away from the shed while you cut it. The snatch block and copious amounts of chain are so you can position the tractor away from the direction the tree will fall!!! We have actually used this method on our farm so it is barely possible it will work for you.

To cut bandages, bandage scissors are best to use, it is also safer because of the blunt end. However, it is useful to take 2, 1 for left-handed people and 1 for right-handed people
