I was living in Havana but in the roof of the building where I lived I had my antenna to get the fm band on my recorder player. I was 12 yrs old and american radio stations changed my lifestyle and mind. Never ever again I listened communist radio stations from Cuba. I miss those times when power 96 and Y100 mixed live from different clubs in Miami.

Same here! Grew up in Camaguey, and still remember the antenna I built from scratch to be able to listen to P96! I could say this radio station in the early 90s changed a lot of people’s lives, especially where we come from. It did to me too so I don’t blame you at all!

1st Good job to renexoox and Thanks for this upload. Today renexoox you probably would not like Power 96 much. They changed thier programing some and got heavy into modern hip hop that to me is crap. I stopped listening in 2005-06 when that horrible Lucy Lopez started talking on the radio. I started listening in 88 and damn were they awesome!!! 88-92 wow did they play a lot or a ton of Freestyle music and some old school hip hop the best hip hop for me. Then came the dance era mid 90's and they were amazing then as well. Still with the mixes on friday nights and rush hour. They had lots of DJ's Laz was not the only one. All thier mixing DJ's were amazing. Late 90's early 2000's the bad ass dance/House/Trance music was in full swing. Good times:) They got lots of stuff from Europe and some local stuff that was very good. Unfortunately for me at least their programing took a nose dive mid 2000's. But thanks for the memory of the glory days of Power 96! Man did they start Strong in the Miami scene then 1986. Now my thing is XM radio. BPM to get decent dance/house like music. The things Power 96 got away from.
