Can the conditional formatting be dynamic? For example, instead of specifying 0 - 3 million for red, can I reference a value instead?

Very good tutorial, and exactely what I was looking for. It looks really neat on my computer, however in my phone the color formatting does not seem to work. All I get is black circles. Can someone confirm that it does not work using the mobile layout, or am I just doing something wrong?
@BIElite
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Peter, good point. I haven't tried it on mobile. The UNICHAR function renders differently on various operating systems so you might want to try different UNICHAR codes. The code I used in this example was "Full Black Moon" I believe so maybe you can find one that's simply a black circle. Hopefully the color formatting works then.

What about a traffic light for total. Is there a way to show circle in the Total line? Suppose we are showing not sums but say a share. Then we might have a share for total. And we would like to have a rule that less than 10% share is red, above 90% is green.

Hi BI Elite, under conditional formatting, i see Font Color but not Font Color Scales so I don't get the Color By option. Can you please help me out? And then for "Based on field" I don't have the option to "not summarize", under Summarization there's only Count or Count (Distinct) - is there a way to allow "Dont Summarize" more often or for PBI as a whole in Settings?? I've been researching but haven't been able to find the answer to this

Hi there - thanks for this. What happens if your ratings were dynamic, e.g. in your case, different countries had different thresholds? Providing you had a lookup table, would you be able to conditional format that without having to manually input the respective numbers as you have done here for the blanket thresholds? Cheers
@yannipattas5677
2 жыл бұрын
Hi, probably not relevant anymore but I would indeed create a lookup (or temporary middle table) for the calculation where you have these columns: - country - total sales - target sales - color where in the color table you have a formula where you define what color you want based on the formula where you compare total sales and target sales And then via conditional formatting of the KPI column you can choose the color legend based on the colors in your "color" middle table. But there might be better ways though :)

How to add indicator based on text in a column say success / failure & not numbers?
@BIElite
6 жыл бұрын
Really good question. I guess you could create a calculated column that says if success then 1, if failure then 0. Then you can use the Sum of this calculated column as your conditional formatting. Let me know if this works for you!

Hi, good day. May I have a question? i would like to measure the KPI by % instead of actual figure. however, unable to display the correct color according to my setting. May I know if any different between figure and % setting? (I've already choose "Percent" in the "Rules" of "Advanced Control" under "Conditional formatting"). Thank you for you advise in advance.

Hi BI Elite, need the color formatting for totals circle too in the measure as i am totaling a KPI that makes more sense as a total rather than individual rows. the circle stays black though and somehow the color formating is not applied to the totals KPI column? instead of masking the circle by using HAsonefilter, is there a way to reflect color code based on total KPI value

@BIElite

Hmm if you create a measure instead of a column, a character will appear in the total row. However, I just tried to conditionally format the measure and the detail rows color normally but the total row stayed black. Are you on Windows 10? If so, I recommend adding some logic to the measure to determine if the value is your total row, and if so use the unichar code for a colored circle of your choice. I know I saw somewhere that Windows 10 had colored unichar characters. Might take a little bit of digging!
