Incorporating the iGyro SAT with the Mercury SR2 - Teaching of Mounting Position and Flight Surface Throws. Also applicable to Competition SR2 and Royal SR2.
Excellent as usual. Thank you very much. If I may make a wish i would like you to talk a little about setting upp the gyro when you have selected "delta configuration" in the TX.

Excellent video Costas 👍👍👍. One suggestion: it’s important to mention when teaching the endpoints in the set up of the gyro that when having a dual rate the high rate setting should be switched on!

Yeh...I probably should have been clearer when I was talking about teaching the endpoints for the Gyro... Maximum travel for the flight surface must be selected.

I would to see a video on nose gear steering connected to gyro

Hi Chris, This is very simple to do... First setup the gyro with the nose wheel channel disabled ie. just a normal setup so the gyro does not know about the nose wheel as the setup assistant cannot work with a nose wheel input. Then once you have the gyro operational for your Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder etc you can re-enable the nose wheel steering channel and then manually assign this channel to one of the free Rudder gyros ie. Rudd-B or Rudd-C in the Mercury. Rudd-A will be already assigned for the actual rudder when using a single rudder surface. Manually set the input mapping so that the nose wheel channel number is assigned to a free rudder gyro output ie. Rudder-B or Rudder-C (Rudd-B will be available if you are only using one rudder or Rudd-C if you have two rudders). You can also use a separate gain control just for the nose wheel gyro - Set this up in the gyro gain channel assignment screen on the Mercury where all the gyro gains are assigned a channel from the Tx. That's pretty much it..! The main thing to remember is that the setup assistant cannot handle the nose wheel when it goes through its setup so we add the nose wheel to the system manually after the setup assistant does its thing for all the regular flight surfaces.

Hello, thanks. great video, so helpful. I noticed when you’re setting up the center and servo reverse on the transmitter first, you were using one servo per aileron. If you have two servos per aileron, how do you reverse the second aileron servo on one of the wings when in the transmitter you can only reverse one of the two servos? Do I reverse in the core the first inboard servo, and then in the competition reverse the outboard servo? Thank you.

You can setup one of the servos in the tx and this in effect becomes your master servo for that flight surface. You can then match additional servos on the same flight surface using the servo matching feature in the PowerBox. Take a look at my video showing you how to setup the Mercury with multiple servos on the same flight surface.

You can use the SERVO MATCHING menu to adjust the movement direction of each servo

Hi Costas! What i can understand i don't need a powerbox systems radio to use the iGyro sat. I can do all the programing for the gyro in the mercury?

Yes, they are designed to also work with a number of other brands eg. Futaba, Jeti etc.

Have you tried mounting the iGyro with the wire lead pointed to the side of the plane? I was wanting to do this on one of my planes and found it was reversing the gyro correction on the rudder and ailerons.
@CVHeliPilot

It should not matter providing that you teach the mounting position correctly. One if my planes has it mounted with the wire exiting sideways and it works ok.

It is not possible to directly identify A mode and B mode, nor can it be displayed on the OLED in which working mode, making debugging inconvenient.
@CVHeliPilot

A mode and B mode are really tied to the Tx. You just need to remember that A Mode is always + gyro gain and B Mode is - gyro gain, so not too complicated.

So here is a scenario for you. With a Tx that has only 12chs and because of the complexity of the model you need to limit ch allocations hence Ailerons will only have 1 ch from the Tx, elevators even though they are split will also only have 1 ch from the Tx. Same thing for flaps. I am thinking to then in the PB to output map L aileron to PB port V and L elevator to PB port U. Both as direct then use the servo matching fx in the PB to set end points on those. I am assuming that then they will simply follow as slaves to their Tx ch and any adjustments to that master Tx ch would then be mirrored by said slave chs. Of course there may be a better way to do this apart from spending $3k+ on a PB Core!

@@PeterOZ61 Yes, if you set any output to 'Direct' it will output that channel to the port unmodified. So any mixing etc must be carried out in the Tx. Basically if you set all the outputs to direct then the PowerBox will act similar to a normal receiver.

@@CVHeliPilot I have got a weird one for you. I am using an older JR 12X on DSMX so essentially ity is just like a Spektrum. I have a new PB Competition SR2 and trying to may my AUX channels to various ports on the PB however the PB does not recognize the radio channel. For example I wanted to use AUX3 s choke via one of the toggles, I can see the channel working in the radio monitor screen and I have the PB setup on port H as direct and as #8 yet the servo does not work, in fact it is like it has stalled and it does get very warm. Tried another servo and same thing. Plugged my servo tester in and the servo will work. I did reach out to Richard and he does not know. Thought you may know if there is something I am doing wrong?
