Still good usage. You should create an updated version of this video. Hyped!

You are welcome! 1. I'm not sure what the limit is, but the vb script you used to use sounds like it would have made it fairly simple! I will add the Powershell version to my todo list (have to do a little research and test it out). 2. I would have the spreadsheet take care of it I think... I guess it wouldn't hurt to have the script take care of it as well, so I would think it would be up to who is writing/using it. 3. That would be a good idea. Maybe use the ID as part of the initial password

Sure thing... look for it tonight - By default, I couldn't upload a .ps1 file... I might upload it with it ending in .ps1.txt and see if that will take. If not, I will manually upload it via FTP and link it for ya / everyone. Thanks for the request.

Thanks for the tip... Ya... It's hard cause some people want more detail while others don't... Hard to find that balance. I think maybe I should shorten it up for the video, then on the site go into the detailed stuff with the text/screenshots.

Can you confirm that you added the snapin without any errors? Also, after adding the snapin, see if you can type something like: Get-QAD, and press "TAB", does your auto-complete show up (keep pressing TAB and it cycles through the available cmdlets)?

Should this work fully on Server 2008 x86 with its builtin version of powershell? i tried it and it brought up errors. also does the OU & security groups need to be set up first? ps great work on your server basics series, been training for the WSUK finals with them. i feel more confident about Server 2008 now :D

Hello Chris & thanks a lot for this amazing video, I am working on it and I hope that it will help me to create Bulk users for my Domain. However, I am facing an issue downloading the quest application, when I go to the link provided, it forwards me to software.dell.com/products/activeroles-server/ when I have to download a trial of this new software instead of quest. Can you please advise what to do ? Or at least if you have a copy of the quest program, could you please upload it somewhere where I can download and continue my work ? Thanks a lot in advance for your great work !

Hi , I am currently trying to import multiple users to multiple different groups via powershell. The formatting of the CSV is: Group Name Members grp1 user 1 , user 2 , user 3 grp 2 user 5 , user 1 , user 4 grp 3 user 6 , user 5 , user 3 Some of the users that exist within the CSV do not currently exist so i have tried several different methods to import this but keep on getting errors import-csv "C:\Users\sys.c\Desktop\adgroups123.csv" | ForEach-Object {add-ADGroupMember -Identity $_.groupname -Members $_.username} is what im currently using, although i have tried other ways of trying to achieve this. I believe the issue that i am currently having is i need to do a -split(;) as the users are within the same cell , per row. I am therefore if i need to edit this or start over. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this as. I am unsure if i need to edit my csv to a different format or if powershell is capable of doing this within this format. ( i could not see anyone else trying this format on forums) Thanks!
