I'm confused. The Bb bebop scale (6th dim scale?) would have an Eb and the F#, the C bebop would have a G#. What am I missing?

The Bebop scales for minor 7th chords and dominant seventh chords are different than a major seventh chord. So yes the b. Flat major bebop scale has a sharp. 6, but the c minor 7 and f7 Bebop scales use an f sharp as the passing note.

Mr. Tobey: The lessons are truly wonderful. The "links", not so much. They either don't work (meaning I do not get an email with the .pdf link) or they are a link to something other than the lesson on the page. For example, this one appears -- and I emphasize "appears" because I don't even get an email link -- to take one to the page with the Bill Evans lesson. Is there some way to make this a bit easier and less frustrating? If not, my thanks in any case for your magical lessons.

PS: The email link finally did arrive, but it is to the Bill Evans lesson. And I have zero idea of how to find the backing track for this (i.e. the "swing") lesson. Maybe I am just getting old.....

I messed around with these rhythms on the stuff I’m working on and it’s a real brain twister! But also cool.

I watched a Jeremy Siskind video today and he called that same left hand rhythm “red garland rhythms”. I didn’t know that. They really take a lot of concentration since they are both off the beat and targeting the next chord. A real challenge for sure but sound great if you get the groove.
