Prague. What's cool in Prague? Unprofessional guide to the Czech capital.
I went to the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, with my family for 3 days. There is no problem in finding accommodation in Prague, but the amount of money we have depends on the standard and distance from the center. If we do not want to pay too much, it is good to choose accommodation 3-5 km from the center, but close to the metro or tram stop, because by purchasing, for example, a whole day ticket for CZK 120/person, we can use public transport as much as we want with countless transfers ( there are also 3-day tickets). I left the car in the parking lot until I left the capital.
What's cool about Prague?
We started by visiting the Petrinsky hill (the hill on Petrřín, Petřín hill) where we could see one of the largest stadiums in the world, i.e. Strahov Stadium, next to the stadium's ventilation towers, the Stefanikov Observatory, the Magic Cave and the 65.5-meter high Petřínská lookout tower, to which you have to climb the stairs, from where you can see the panorama of Prague. After descending the tower, we went through the Seminary Garden to the Charles Bridge. Going towards the above-mentioned we pass the bridge, among others the famous John Lennon Wall, the Karl Zeman Museum, Lesser Town and the Lesser Town Bridge Tower, where right after passing it we entered the Charles Bridge. Before the bridge, there are also a few places to see, such as the narrowest street in Prague, the famous sculptures of Ignorant Politicians and the Franz Kafka museum. I recommend eating the delicious desserts that are served there, but not on the main street, but somewhere nearby - it will be cheaper and there will be shorter queues. Walking back to the hotel, you can visit the Kampa island, the Monument to the Victims of Communism in Prague or the Model Railway Museum - an attraction for the youngest.
We noticed that people live relaxed here, even the red light at the crossing is just to see if anything is coming and to cross :-) the uniformed officers don't bother us.
On the second day, a tram ride beyond the Vltava River and a metro ride from the deepest metro station in Europe, i.e. 53 meters deep into the earth. Then we found ourselves at the František Palacký monument, from where we went to the Old Town through the New Town on foot. There is a lot to explore on this side of the Vltava, so you may ask again: What is worth visiting in Prague? We started from the Dancing House at Palác Žofín, turned to Myslikova Street and along the way we saw a man hanging on an umbrella, then we could see the New Town Hall in Prague, reaching Wenceslas Square. After visiting the National Museum and taking a photo at the Monument to St. Wacław, we went for dinner to the Vytopna Restaurant, where the ordered drinks and dishes are delivered by trains :-).
After lunch, we went to the Jewish Quarter - Józefów, visiting along the way: the Old Town Square in Prague, the Prague Astronomical Clock, the Powder Gate and the Municipal Representative House, the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, the Franz Kafka monument, the Spanish Synagogue, and the Rudolfinum. We took the metro to Bubeneč to go to Prague through the Royal Gardens and Queen Anne's Summer House. Then Prague Castle and all the monuments there, along with the beautiful Golden Lane. When we went down, we took the tram and went to the Anděl area to see what interesting things were happening there. I realize that I am not listing all the attractions in Prague that we passed because I will bore you :-). You should discover this atmosphere for yourself because it is worth it.
The third day and it was Saturday, we could start with a trip to Pankrac to see glass houses and modern office buildings, then through the Tabor Gate we went to Visegrad to see the park, the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Rotunda of Saint. Marcin. Other attractions are Vinohrady and the Žižkov TV Tower, from which we can see the panorama of Prague at a height of 93 meters. Finally, Starý židovský hřbitov Žižkov and a walk among old tenement houses. And before leaving, dinner - dumplings :-)))
