I have those gel highlighters. I do use them occasionally but I always keep a tissue handy to wipe the waxy residue off. It’s an extra step but I find it worth the time. I recently saw a woman using crayons for highlighting. What impressed me was she demonstrated that you can use a regular eraser to erase the crayon. I haven’t tried yet but I will soon.

Oooh! Thank you! I know an eraser will work on the colored pencils but I’ll have to try on the crayons. Thank you 🥰

I have been using Zebra Zebrite Bible highlighters for years. They are made by G. T. Luscombe and have the least bleed through or show through of any brand I have tried…love them!

Thank you so much for doing this. I am making prayer Bibles for Christmas gifts-love the Bibles I got but they’re very thin pages! So far all the pens that other videos are showing don’t work for me & I am frustrated! Like you I am pretty OCD about this, especially because they are gifts, & the Bibles are so pretty-I don’t want to ruin it with my highlighting! So far I am finding watercolor pencils work the best for me. They go on light so you have to keep going over it but I’d rather they start too light than too dark. I had wondered about the Twistable crayons. I don’t have any but I had heard that they were one of the best, so am glad to now have more information. Thanks again!!!

I use the Twistables for my Bible markings. I usually do not highlight in my Bible. I use the Twistables to underline my verses. That way, I get the pop of color without smearing the ink of the words. Also, you can erase the Twistables if you make a mistake. My OCD will not allow me to color over the words of my books..not sure why...LOL! To write my notes, I use Pentel mechanical pencil 0.05 fine point. That way, I can erase any mistakes. I also put a piece of hard plastic or cardboard behind the page I am writing on so that there will not be any indented / dimpling on the next several pages behind the page I wrote on. This system keeps my Bible markings pristine. I just found your channel yesterday and really enjoy your content. Blessings to you all!

Great idea with the colourpencils, but get some quality... Faber-Castell polycromos (the greenbody) ... or atleast the Goldfarbe (dark blue body). .. They Are both longer lasting.. 'permanent'. A pack with 12 colours should be fine... Thanks to you I Will use colourpencil when I start New bible in December 🎉

Thank you for testing all those pens and high lighters, good Bible worthy products are SO hard to find. I use gel highlighters from Daily Grace and if I go heavy they will get kinda sticky, but I keep the pressure off and they work great. In my Bible that has super thin pages, I use the twistables because they are the only things that don't go through and if I press, they will also go through (those pages are like tissue, no exaggeration here).

@@PrettyPlanitThank you for replying so quickly. I learned from bible note taking with Katie why she uses the twistable crayon over the pencil. She even explains all the problems with pens after years of note taking. My concern is bleed through, and smearing after years of continuous use. Show through (I don’t like the use of word ghosting) is not a big deal to me. Thin bible pages there will always be there, even with the ink they use to print the Bible. Micron has a light grey color that has very minimal show through. Basically I just lightly highlight use transparent pages and page flags, while I experiment with this prayer Bible. I am always ready to give a bible away. I show ppl that you can remove the flags and erase the verse highlights and make the Bible their own. I also would remove and move answered prayers to clear in a jar periodically. I am looking forward to seeing the prayer tote you will create.

I agree. I use zebra fine print a lot. Depending on how much pressure you write with, there can be an impression on the other side of the page but I don’t have a bleeding problem with them. I very seldom ever write anything in my bibles with anything other than blue and black. All other colors over time bleed.

Hello. Thank you for sharing your page marking test. I use Frixion Pens the most. Have you tried the Zebra Brush Pen Mildliners? I have the best luck with those too. You said you were using the Crayola Twistable Crayons but they look like the Crayola Twistable Colored Pencils to me, can you confirm which you're actually using? Tia

There is no pen for writing really that does not shadow. Good luck with that, some are just less dark. The actual print of the bible does not smear but the pencil crayons do leave colour over the type so lightens it a bit. I think you need to lighten up on your writing, don’t press as hard, or go over it so much.

Hi there, great video. I just wanted to mention the ink pens I use in my Bible for underlining and writing a note.. I use “Bic Ultra Round Stic Grip “ they come in various colors but I brought a small box of each color. They work great with no bleed but I don’t use them to highlight. These are some ugly, cheap looking pens but they work great. This way my notes match the color of my highlighted scripture and tab. I got mine from Amazon. For highlighting, I swear by Crayola Color Pencils (which are erasable). I hope this was helpful. (I have the same bible). 😊
