I live in the South and I have found a trick to keeping ferns alive a lot longer. As soon as you get them replant them in a bigger planter, they will get triple in size and turn the darkest green, I use metal or wood plant risers or tables to put them on and place them on my porches or even in garden beds. For some reason ferns don’t like being root bound nor do they really like to hang on porches. Native ferns actually grow on the ground, their natural habitat. Your yard is beautiful and lush❤

Hi Anna. Just this morning I was thinking about how you hadn’t shown your outside in a while, and I got the notification, and there you were! I was thinking, maybe you should bring a big fan and plug it in on your front porch so you can see a little bit cooler while you’re working so hard. I hope you were drinking water or Gatorade. I felt kind of sad as you were pulling things out because I remember when you planted everything. It is that time of year though and whatever you do with the front landscaping will be perfect. I was going to mention about your ferns, I live in a different zone than you do and I could keep my ferns going a long time and I even bring them in when the weather gets cold and kind of put them where they can go dormant. I was just wondering if you could do that as well. I had a fern once that I kept and used about three summers. anyway, thank you for sharing your beautiful yard with us. Blessings my dear.❤❤❤

I could absolutely try over wintering them! I'm wondering if I can re-pot them though. Just because they've been outside and I'd hate to bring anything inside that doesn't belong or a disease for my house plants. 🤔
