Tori a spare tire is a full sized tire. A doughnut is that temporary mini tire. That you're not supposed to go over 50 mph or use for a long period.

They are one and the same. Google spare tire. Notice what they show you is what either one of us would call a doughnut. Although I would also call it a spare tire because it’s not a tire you would use at all times it’s a spare.

Here's a Southern-style oatmeal cookie recipe with a classic twist. These cookies are soft, chewy, and have a delightful balance of spices and sweetness. **Ingredients:** - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened - 1 cup brown sugar, packed - 1/2 cup granulated sugar - 2 large eggs - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg - 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats - 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) - 1 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional) **Instructions:** 1. **Preheat the Oven:** Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them. 2. **Cream the Butter and Sugars:** In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. 3. **Add the Eggs and Vanilla:** Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, until well combined. 4. **Mix Dry Ingredients:** In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. 5. **Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:** Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. 6. **Add Oats and Mix-ins:** Stir in the oats, pecans, and raisins (or cranberries) until evenly distributed throughout the dough. 7. **Shape the Cookies:** Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. You can slightly flatten the dough balls with the back of a spoon if you prefer flatter cookies. 8. **Bake:** Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still slightly soft. For a crisper cookie, bake a minute or two longer. 9. **Cool:** Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. 10. **Serve and Enjoy:** Enjoy these cookies warm with a glass of cold milk or a cup of tea. ### Tips: - For a Southern twist, consider adding a handful of shredded coconut or a splash of bourbon to the dough. - Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft and chewy for several days. Enjoy your delicious Southern-style oatmeal cookies!
