So much to say, sorry if it’s long. I will definitely have to make a better effort to catch you live. A couple of things re Eddie Vedder and “Just Breathe” I’m sure you know him, he’s lead singer for Pearl Jam. That song is one of my favourites. Gas prices are also insane here in Canada. No surprise. In southern Ontario, we are paying an average of 1.45 CAD per litre. That’s close to 6$/gallon, about 4.85 USD. In terms of chassis, I never thought I could love a Ford as much as I do my 2017 F150 3.5 Eco-boost. Gas mileage is decent for its size. I also love to drive, but as I am mostly on country highways, I use cruise control to keep fuel costs down. I did turn off the nasty lane assist. The first time it kicked in it really scared me. I am still a van wannabe and I’ve been researching for over one year. The Panoramic is my absolute favourite design except for the toilet. I also love Winnebago for its quality craftsmanship. While I used to like the Coachman Beyond for the Ford chassis and layout, the quality seems to be a huge issue. I would probably never go with a Sprinter due to cost and ease of maintenance. Finally, thank you for your views on the chassis. I was concerned about the RAM as I’ve never driven it. Sounds like it would be perfectly suitable for my needs, especially the newer models. I recently saw a walk through of the Overland Mode LT. I love so many features on it. But not sure how they address heat. Embassy, just don’t like the floor plan, but I do love the innovation. Again if there is no propane, what would one do for heat? Finally, Pleasureway would be nice, but the 2022 have the most ridiculous bathroom. For such an expensive van, they really cheaped out on the bathroom. I don’t want to research this to death but it’s such a huge investment. As you say, floor plan is key. In meantime, winterizing my tt today. But still plan on taking it out if nighttime temperatures remain above freezing. Thank you Scott for all the great content.

I am formerly from Hamilton, IL now from Lansing, MI. Hamilton, It is on the Mississippi River. The lock is the longest on the Mississi. I might be biased 😉 but I love the Transit, it's easy to drive, and Coachmen gets the Transits that have a lot of the features that the Sprinter has, not sure if all RV manufacturers do that or if some just get the base model. The Sprinter is nice but the maintenance costs are higher and it's harder to find a MB dealer. Just in the month and a half I've been roaming around in my van through small towns, I've seen plenty of Ford and Dodge dealers so if you have a Promaster or a Transit and have an issue there's is a very good chance a dealership will be near by.

@gosmall.livelarge

Hi Dorothy. Lengthy explanation on your questions on What’s Up Wednesday!? I think Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome (same company now) is the best RV program for most RVers. For about $220 per year one gets access to a databases of over 6,000 places to camp for 1-5 nights. Commercial hosts expect you to purchase something from their business. Private property hosts do not charge unless they offer power or similar. See the full story on Episode 61 … kzitem.info/news/bejne/o39syJWQnGeDlX4

Very little inventory north on the border...any idea of the complications of buying in the US and then driving it back across the border as a Canadian Resident? Also will the insulation hold up to our weather ?

A U.S. made van taken to Canada will void its warranty. Terry with Embassy RV investigated this for his Canadian customers. He had to have the Canadian vans delivered to the U.S. for the conversion.
@liorajacob8094
2 жыл бұрын
@@Van_Liberty so could those vans be legally imported into and licensed in Canada? The last time I checked Embassy RV was not included on the list of approved B-vans, but hopefully that will change for next year if it hasn't already. The only brand with comparable quality in Canada is Panoramic, but they are currently taking Canadian orders for spring 2024 which is insane!
@Van_Liberty

@@liorajacob8094 The warranty issues is an OEM van manufacturing question e.g. Ford, MB, Dodge. Only they could confirm warranty questions of that nature. Embassy is RVIA certified. I'd call Terry at Embassy for concrete answers.

@@Van_Liberty I'm referring to Transport Canada Section 5.2 Motorhomes Class B - the list of brands (i.e. Airstream, Thor, Winnebago) of modified vans that are allowed to be imported into Canada. I'm sorry my tech skills do not extend to sharing a screenshot here... Many boutique companies (like Storyteller and Embassy) are absent. I wonder if this list only refers to private customers importing vehicles, obviously not to US companies already selling through Canadian dealers.
@Van_Liberty
2 жыл бұрын
@@liorajacob8094 Well, I do know that Embassy is building Canadian built vans that are brought to America, built and delivered to their originating dealer in Canada which delivers to the buyer. Terry had to make arrangements with a Canadian dealer to make it work for Canadians and not impact a factory van warranty.
